Student answer (Band 5.5)
In many countries people still facing food scarcity even they have advance equipments for agriculture. In this essay will discuss the reason behind this give possible solutions.
The first reason behind this is fertile land. To elaborate, in many countries people have enough knowledge about agriculture along with equipments but they they are unable to grow grains. They do not have fertile land as well as better compost for agriculture. Moreover, weather condition is also a cause of food scarcity. To explan, in many countries individuals can not grow plants due to weather condotions because for agriculture a balance weather condition is needed and due to extreame cold and hot in such places people can not grow grains and rice. For instance, Kashmir because weather of Kashmir is not suitable for agriculture.
To tackle this problem, there are many solutions. The first solution can be guidence from the Government. To elaborate, Government can help indviduals that how we can prepare a fertiliser soil such as with help of public campaeign it can be solution also government can provide compost witout cost by which they can grow grain for them. Furthermore, in cities many people growing vegetables on their roofs instead of land because they do not have land for grow plats and they prefered to grow organic vegetables and it can be a solution.
Thus it can be concluded that there are many reasons behind the food scarcity such as lack of knowledge but to tackle this problem solutions also there.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both questions by identifying possible causes—poor soil and unsuitable weather—and suggesting government guidance, free compost, and growing vegetables on rooftops. These ideas are relevant, but the explanation is limited and sometimes unclear. For example, the claim that people have agricultural knowledge and equipment but cannot grow crops because of infertile land needs more explanation, such as how soil degradation or lack of irrigation contributes to hunger. The Kashmir example is also asserted rather than clearly connected to the wider problem. Your solutions are similarly brief, and rooftop gardening is more applicable to some urban households than to widespread hunger. Develop each main point with a clear explanation and a specific, relevant example, and make the conclusion summarise the causes and solutions more precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “To tackle this problem,” and “Thus” help signal the stages of your answer. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because ideas are joined in long, loosely connected sentences. The government-support point, for instance, moves from guidance to soil preparation, public campaigns, and free compost without clearly separating or explaining these steps. Some transitions are also mechanical, with “To elaborate” repeated. Organise each paragraph around one clear main idea, then explain it and show its result; use referencing and linking phrases only where they clarify the relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “food scarcity,” “fertile land,” “compost,” and “organic vegetables,” so the reader can generally understand the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes meaning less clear. For example, “balance weather condition” is not a natural way to describe suitable conditions, and “fertiliser soil” does not clearly express the intended idea of improving soil. Spelling errors such as “condotions,” “extreame,” and “indviduals” are also noticeable. Build a more precise set of agriculture and food-security terms, check spelling carefully, and learn common combinations such as “suitable climate,” “soil fertility,” and “agricultural support.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a reason clause with “because” and a contrast introduced by “but.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to read. The opening, “In many countries people still facing food scarcity,” is missing an auxiliary verb, while “In this essay will discuss” lacks a clear subject. There are also problems with agreement and sentence construction in “many people growing vegetables” and “they prefered to grow.” Some sentences run together, particularly the explanation of government help, making the relationships between clauses unclear. Practise forming complete subject–verb sentences, checking verb forms and agreement, and dividing long explanations into shorter, correctly punctuated sentences.
