Student answer (Band 5.5)

Despite the advantages built in farming, some individuals around the world still do not have enough food. This essay will explore the reasons behind this and give solution. This case maybe because of the corruption, poor management of food and high costs.

firstly, Corruption will help store the food from formers. later, They sell the food according to their will. for instances, a person wants to buy cheaper wheat than a leader may give him or her wheat in exchange of votes from the particular person. Secondly, poor management of food directly lead to starvation, it is not because of food supply, but because of

low distribution and access. lastly, high prices of food also directly lead to starvation. For example, a child desires to eat rice everyday, therefore, parents need to buy come what may although rice are not cheap.

Farmers should take some crucial steps for development. They have to sale their vegetables, wheat and rice rather than selling to someone else it will cause cost problem later. Government should buy wheat and rice for selling on cheaper rates. for instance, it will help the public to choose the same government again if government buy food and than sale on cheap rates.

To conclude, it is assumed that farmers grow enough food so, everyone can eat during the whole year, but several major reasons may lead to starvation. Government ought to do something for the public. Farmers also need to take some crucial steps for better food management.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions by identifying corruption, weak food distribution and high prices as causes, then suggesting actions for farmers and government. The point that hunger can result from “low distribution and access” rather than an overall shortage is relevant, and the examples about wheat and rice help illustrate your ideas. However, the explanations are often unclear or insufficiently developed: the example about exchanging wheat for votes does not clearly show how corruption causes widespread hunger, and the proposed farmer actions are not explained in enough detail. Your position is present, but the response would be stronger if each cause and solution were linked explicitly to how it reduces hunger, with more realistic, specific support.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, one on solutions and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Lastly” and “To conclude” help readers follow the broad organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven, and some links between ideas are difficult to follow. For example, the move from corruption to a buyer exchanging wheat for votes is not clearly explained, while the sentence about farmers selling produce “rather than selling to someone else” leaves the intended relationship unclear. Several transitions feel mechanical, and punctuation and capitalisation sometimes interrupt the flow. Use topic sentences and clearer references, then explain each point in a logical sequence rather than relying mainly on listing words.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “corruption,” “starvation,” “distribution,” “access” and “food supply,” so the reader can identify the subject of the essay. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, which sometimes makes the meaning difficult to interpret. For instance, “advantages built in farming” does not naturally express agricultural progress, and “store the food from formers” obscures the intended point. There are also errors such as “for instances” and “sale” where the context requires a different form. Aim to learn common collocations for food insecurity and government action, and check that each chosen word expresses the precise relationship you intend.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast in “it is not because of food supply, but because of low distribution and access” and a conditional idea about government action. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and punctuation occur frequently enough to make some sentences hard to follow. Examples include “poor management of food directly lead,” “rice are not cheap,” and the run-on construction “Farmers should take some crucial steps for development. They have to sale … rather than selling … it will cause cost problem later.” Practise subject–verb agreement and singular/plural forms, and divide long or joined ideas into complete sentences. More accurate control of these basics would make your arguments clearer.
