Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You identify several relevant causes, including poverty and income inequality, weak transport and supply chains, and weather-related crop damage. However, the response addresses the task only partially: the causes receive some explanation, but the proposed solutions are barely developed. The final paragraph begins to discuss restaurant food waste, then ends abruptly, so it does not explain how reducing waste could help hungry people or offer another practical measure. The response also falls short of the required minimum length, which limits how fully you can explain and support your ideas. To strengthen the answer, develop each main point with a clear explanation and a specific example, and give the solutions comparable attention to the causes.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

There is a basic overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, and a paragraph beginning to address solutions. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Additionally,” and “Moving towards” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression is uneven: the causes are crowded into one long paragraph, while the solutions section is incomplete and ends with a stray “f”. Some links between ideas are also unclear, particularly where the discussion moves from weather damage to food prices and hunger. Use separate, focused paragraphs for the main causes and solutions, and connect each cause to its consequence with clear sentences rather than relying mainly on listing words.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “income inequality,” “supply chain,” “unseasonal rain,” and “starvation,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling, and collocation errors make parts difficult to understand, such as “parill,” “food is rarely produce,” and “the rate of the basic goods of agriculters.” Phrases such as “alot of food” and “through their food into bins” are also inaccurate or informal for this essay. Aim to learn common collocations for food distribution and hunger, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would make your explanations clearer and more academic.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts some longer sentences and uses basic linking structures, but sentence control is inconsistent. Several sentences are fragments or run-ons, for example, “Commencing with the reasons behind this issue” and “Firstly, poverty and income ineqaulity, the food available in the market but lack of money people do not get food.” Verb forms and sentence patterns are also faulty in “food is rarely produce where it is needed most” and “when food is not eated by people they through their food into bins.” These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas hard to follow. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then use a small range of accurate complex structures to explain causes and results.
