Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify two relevant reasons for hunger: unsuitable environmental conditions, including water shortages and poor weather, and conflict, which can disrupt homes and access to meals. These examples show an attempt to explain why agricultural advances do not benefit everyone. However, the task also asks what can be done, and this part is only briefly addressed in the conclusion with the general suggestion that governments improve agriculture. No specific measures are explained, and the causes are not developed with clear supporting detail. The response therefore addresses the question only minimally in places, especially its solutions component. To strengthen it, explain practical actions—such as irrigation, food distribution, or protecting aid access during conflict—and show how each would reduce hunger.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on environmental problems and war, and a conclusion. Connectors such as “Furthermore,” “For example,” and “In conclusion” help signal the intended stages. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow, and some linking phrases do not express a clear relationship. For example, “To commence with the problem of the peoples go hungry” does not clearly introduce the environmental explanation, while the conclusion repeats the causes rather than bringing the discussion together or developing the proposed response. References such as “the circumstance” are also unclear. Use topic sentences that state each point directly, then organise explanation and example in a clear sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “agriculture,” “crops,” “nutrition,” “environment,” and “war,” so the reader can identify the subject. However, the range is basic and repetitive, and frequent word-choice, spelling, and collocation problems sometimes strain understanding. Examples include “benefits made in farming,” “a group of people around the whole world,” and “lack of meal problems”; these are not natural ways to express the intended ideas. There are also repeated forms such as “peoples” where “people” is needed, and “essy” for “essay.” Build a more precise set of phrases for causes and solutions, and check spelling and common word combinations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt some longer sentences using clauses and connectors, for example, “For instance, in some areas, water is not enough…” and “Therefore, lot's of peoples have not proper house…”. However, the range of sentence structures remains very limited, and frequent errors in basic grammar can distort meaning. Examples include “agriculture play crucial role,” “environment condition do not stable,” and “there are another problems,” which show problems with agreement, verb forms, and articles. Several sentences also lack a complete or well-formed structure, making relationships between ideas hard to interpret. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses while checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb patterns.
