Student answer (Band 6.0)

Despite agricultural advances, many people still go hungry around the world. In my opinion, this is because of the uneven distribution of the technologies and in agricultural countries, farmers losing interest in growing food.

In the 21st century, many advances have been made to make agriculture less difficult for farmers. There are tractors for ploughing lands, genetically enhanced seeds, less hazardous fertilizers and so on for making growing foods easier. But not all countries are supplied with these facilities. Because of poor economical condition many countries are deprived of these innovations. In some countries farmers still have to work under scorching sun to saw seeds, use fertilizers that are expensive and hazardous for their health.

Moreover, farmers are losing interest in growing food because they are not getting the deserving payment for their crops. To grow a crop farmers often take financial loans and expect to return it after their payment. But they do not get enough pay for their goods which leads to financial crisis for them. This is the biggest factor behind theis loss of interest.

However, this problem can be solved by taking necessary measures. The government should introduce low cost technologies and make them available for farmers. There can be agricultural loans for farmers with low interest to encourage them. The NGOs also can come forward to help farmers financially. The public view on the importance of growing crops should also be enhanced sothat people do not hesitate to start farming.

In conclusion, agriculture should be given the deserved importance sothat farmers do not lose interest and more people join them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions and maintain a relevant position: unequal access to agricultural technology and farmers’ low returns are presented as causes, followed by proposals such as affordable technology, low-interest loans and NGO support. These ideas are relevant, but some are not developed equally. The explanation of farmers’ financial difficulties is clearer than the point about the public’s view of farming, which is introduced without explaining how changing attitudes would reduce hunger. The response would be stronger with specific examples and fuller links between each cause, its effect on food availability, and the proposed remedy. Your conclusion restates the general position but could more directly summarise how the suggested measures would address the problem.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The response has a clear overall progression: an introduction identifies the causes, two body paragraphs explain them, a further paragraph proposes solutions, and the conclusion returns to the main point. Paragraphing helps the reader follow this structure, and transitions such as “Moreover,” “However,” and “In conclusion” signal the stages of the argument. Some connections are less smooth within paragraphs: the discussion moves from expensive and hazardous inputs to farmers’ working conditions without fully explaining the link, and the final solution about public attitudes is not clearly tied to the earlier causes. Use more precise referencing and connect each recommendation explicitly to the problem it is intended to solve.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “genetically enhanced seeds,” “financial loans,” “low interest,” and “agricultural advances,” which makes the subject clear. There are also attempts at less common expressions, but several choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “poor economical condition,” “deserving payment,” and “return it after their payment.” Spelling errors in “theis” and “sothat” also reduce accuracy. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, but they limit precision and naturalness. Build accuracy by learning common word partnerships for farming and finance, and proofread carefully for spelling and word forms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause in “because they are not getting…” and a purpose clause in “so that people do not hesitate…”. Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. For example, “There are tractors …, genetically enhanced seeds … for making growing foods easier” has an unclear sentence structure, while “farmers often take financial loans and expect to return it” has a pronoun that does not agree clearly with its reference. The sentence beginning “Because of poor economical condition” is also a fragment. Aim to make clause relationships explicit, check articles and pronoun references, and vary sentence structures while keeping them controlled.
