Student answer (Band 5.5)

Many people still go hungry despite the spite of the develpments made in agriculture all of the world.

Overall, laziness is one of the major factor contributed to the hunger between many people all over the world because they believe that farming is stressful, on the other hand, people should embrace agriculture and invest in it.

Furthermore, many people all over the world think that farming is outdated, hence the tend to choose other type of jobs like banking, nursing, engineering and others. Another reason why people go hunger all over the world despite the share of advances made in agriculture is neglence from our educational sector. In our schools today, schools rarely market agriculture as one of there main course in the university, rather they choose to focus more on deciplines like engineering, nursing and other courses. For example, my institution here in Nigeria doesn't have agriculture department that will teach there student the benefit of farming.

Moreover, government should prioritise agriculture and have a budget/ loan grant that will support the citizens to have access to all the necessary materials needed in agriculture. For example, around 2025, the Nigerial government grants it's citizens a loan grant that helped us to go back to farming which i personal benefited. By doing so people all over the world will see a reason to embrace agriculture.

In conclusio, many people all over the world don't see agriculture as a proffesion again despite the share of advances materials, furthermore, the government and individuals should prioritise farming in our countries.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions by suggesting that people avoid farming because they see it as stressful or outdated, and by recommending government support and greater investment. The examples about your Nigerian institution and a government loan make the response relevant and personal. However, the explanation focuses mainly on why people do not choose agriculture as a profession, rather than explaining more directly why people remain hungry despite agricultural advances—for example, unequal food distribution, poverty, conflict, or limited access to land and technology. The proposed solutions are also quite general, and the loan example needs clearer detail about how it reduced hunger. Develop the causes and connect each solution explicitly to food access to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, discussion of causes, a paragraph on government action, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “Furthermore,” “Moreover,” and “For example” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression is not always clear: the opening refers to “laziness,” while the following explanation is more about attitudes toward farming and education. Several points are joined in long sentences, and repeated phrases such as “all over the world” make the flow feel repetitive. The conclusion also repeats the main points without clearly summarising how the causes and solutions fit together. Use one focused paragraph for causes and another for solutions, with clearer links between each claim and its explanation.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “agriculture,” “educational sector,” “prioritise,” and “necessary materials,” and the reader can generally understand your main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “go hunger,” “share of advances,” “loan grant,” and “market agriculture.” Spelling errors, including “develpments,” “neglence,” “deciplines,” and “proffesion,” are noticeable and reduce the precision of the writing. Repeated use of “people all over the world” also limits variety. Build a more accurate set of phrases for food insecurity and agricultural policy, and check spelling and word forms carefully before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a sentence beginning “Although” in meaning and clauses introduced by “because” and “which.” However, complex structures are often not controlled accurately, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “the tend to choose” lacks the correct verb form, “other type of jobs” has a number-agreement problem, and “my institution … doesn't have agriculture department” is missing an article. There are also problems with agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “one of the major factor contributed to the hunger.” Practise building accurate subject–verb patterns and checking articles, plurals, and clause structure; shorter, well-controlled sentences would improve clarity.
