Student answer (Band 5.5)
In todays world, many new advancements to the agricultural world has been taking place, still many believe people suffer from hunger. I completely agree with this statement but it has many reasons like poverty, unequal food distibution, food export and food wastage.
One of the biggest cause is the economic unstability and poverty. Even if the improvements are made in the agriculture, things have been expensive, money is required, there is alot of unemployment, people dont have enough money to buy good quality food. For example if some who has a vegetable shop in front of the house ut is unable to buy them, agriculture cannot be blamed.
Another major cause unequal food distribution, mostly it is seen that good quality food is exported to different countries and people of the coutry are left with category B food, also foor is unequally distributed among the rich and poor by giving good quality food to the vendors in supermarkets while the rotten material is left of the street vendors.
Food wastage is another factor where most ofthe food is discarded by the authorities . Natural disasters also effect the quality of food. Floods and rains have effected much of the crops in when happened in the unpredictable seasons.
In conclusion, the new technology has improved much of the quality in agricultures but factors like poverty, economic unstability can never make people have equal food to prevent it from hunger but can be resolved by goverment making suhc policies of equal disrtribution of food and have some natural disadter protection rules and policies.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify several relevant causes—poverty, unequal distribution, food waste and natural disasters—and suggest government policies as a response. This gives the essay a clear general focus on the question. However, the task asks both why hunger persists and what can be done, and the solutions are only briefly mentioned in the conclusion. The causes also need clearer explanation: for instance, the vegetable-shop example does not clearly show how poverty prevents people from accessing food, and the claim about exported food is not supported with a specific example. Develop each main point with a direct explanation and a practical response, such as targeted food assistance, better storage and transport, or disaster-resistant farming.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for causes and a concluding paragraph. This helps the reader identify the main topics. However, progression is uneven: the body paragraphs list several points without consistently explaining how one leads to the next, and the solutions appear mainly at the end rather than in a developed paragraph. Some linking is also awkward or unclear, as in “Another major cause unequal food distribution,” while “also” introduces a further claim without showing its relationship to the previous one. Use clear topic sentences, connect each example explicitly to its main idea, and organise the response into distinct sections for causes and solutions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “agriculture,” “poverty,” “food distribution,” “food wastage” and “natural disasters,” so the reader can follow the subject. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or spellings make parts difficult to understand. Examples include “economic unstability,” “category B food,” “rotten material” and “natural disadter protection rules”; these expressions are either unclear or not natural in this context. There are also repeated basic terms such as “food” and “people.” Build a more precise range for discussing access and supply, and check spelling and collocations. For example, use “economic instability,” “lower-quality produce,” and “disaster-preparedness measures.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt some longer sentences and use basic cause-and-effect structures, such as “Even if the improvements are made in the agriculture…” and “Floods and rains have effected much of the crops…”. However, the range is limited, and errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles and punctuation occur frequently enough to make some ideas hard to follow. For example, “many new advancements … has been taking place” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “Another major cause unequal food distribution” is missing a verb. The final sentence is also difficult to parse because several ideas are joined together without clear grammatical structure. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check agreement, articles and sentence boundaries.
