Student answer (Band 6.5)
Despite of the advancement made in the farming, many individuals are still starving all over yhr globe. The primary reason of that is inequal distribution of resources and the disasters occurs in the world. However, this problems can be addressed through mutual cooperation among nations and international organisations.
Many nations have lack of finances and technology to produce food that is sufficient for their population. Many households have very low income as compared to rich people of that nations which cause inequal distribution of resource as prices of the goods spike due to issues such as international conflicts. For instance, many developing nations faced inflation due to conflict in middle east that reduced their supply of crude oil. As a result, poor families are unable to afford food in the high-priced market. Another major issue is disastors such as floods, earthquakes, landslides, and wars that affect the population of a particular area. The disasters destroys their existing resources and displace them which left them with nothing to eat.
Many countries have been working together to solve the root cuse of these issues. The governments of two nations collaborate together to exchange technology for better life quality of their citizens. The imported technology such tractors and genetically modified seeds is provided to low income households with proper financial supports such as subsidies. Consequentely, poor family get access to resource that can ensure their survival. While international organisations have provided their help in areas facing disasters such as Gaza during war and Nepal facing floods.
In conclusion, several individual faces starvation even after so much advancement in technology. The root cause of that is income-differences in society and events such as war and natural disaster but they are being solved with help of cooperation among nations and assistance from global institutions.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses both questions and presents a clear overall explanation: unequal access to resources and disasters contribute to hunger, while cooperation and assistance are proposed as solutions. The examples of oil-related inflation and disaster-affected areas help make the causes relevant. It also identifies practical measures, including sharing agricultural technology and providing subsidies. However, some points are not fully explained: the link between international conflict, oil prices and food affordability could be made more explicit, and the reference to aid in Gaza and Nepal does not explain what assistance is effective. The response therefore covers the task well, but fuller explanation and support for these ideas would make the discussion more complete and developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The essay has a clear progression from the causes of hunger to possible solutions, followed by a concise conclusion. Paragraphing is appropriate, and signposts such as “For instance,” “As a result,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. The main ideas are generally grouped logically, with the second body paragraph moving from cooperation between governments to the role of international organisations. Some connections could be more precise: “However” in the introduction suggests a contrast that is not fully established, and “While” begins a sentence that is not clearly linked to the preceding one. More careful use of transitions and clearer links between examples and claims would make the cohesion more flexible and natural.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The response uses an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “unequal distribution,” “international conflicts,” “genetically modified seeds,” “subsidies,” and “disasters.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and some less common terms are attempted. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable: “Despite of” is not idiomatic, “disastors” and “Consequentely” are misspelled, and “root cuse” contains a spelling error. Phrases such as “better life quality” and “proper financial supports” are also unnatural or imprecise. These issues do not prevent understanding, but more accurate collocations and careful proofreading would improve clarity and control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The essay attempts both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “as,” “which,” and “that,” and most ideas remain understandable. However, some grammatical errors recur in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction. For example, “the disasters occurs” should use a plural verb, while “The disasters destroys” also has incorrect subject–verb agreement. In “which left them with nothing to eat,” the verb form does not fit the surrounding present-tense discussion. There are also problems with countable nouns and articles, as in “Many nations have lack of finances.” Greater control of these patterns, alongside more consistently accurate complex sentences, would strengthen the writing.
