Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You identify several relevant causes of hunger, including population growth, climate-related effects on farming, and food waste, and you offer actions such as controlling population and reducing waste. However, the response only minimally develops the task: the question asks why hunger persists despite agricultural advances and what can be done, but the discussion of agricultural progress is brief and the proposed solutions are not explained in practical detail. For example, “We have to control world population” is asserted without showing how this would reduce hunger or what other measures could improve food access. The response is also 42 words below the required minimum; 11 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each cause and solution with explanation or an example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: it begins with an introduction, moves to possible causes, and then mentions solutions before a concluding sentence. This gives the reader some sense of the intended structure. However, ideas are not consistently arranged into clear, developed paragraphs, and progression is limited. The opening repeats the topic (“We are going to discuss advances made in agriculture”) rather than advancing the argument, while the final sentence lists causes without drawing the discussion together. Linking is also repetitive, especially the repeated use of “Another reason” and “because.” Use separate paragraphs for causes and solutions, and connect each point to the next with clear references and transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response uses a small set of relevant topic words, such as “agriculture,” “population,” “climate change,” “wastage of food,” and “raining system,” so the general subject is usually recognisable. However, vocabulary is basic and repetitive, and frequent spelling and word-choice errors strain the reader. Examples include “hungary” for “hungry,” “usefull,” “popoulation,” and “hungerness”; the last is not a natural way to refer to the problem. Phrases such as “natural taste of agriculture” and “political ratio of wastage” are unclear or inappropriate in context. Build a more accurate range for discussing food supply and access, and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a cause-and-effect construction such as “Vehicles smoke may affect the raining system and without raining agriculture is not possible.” This shows an effort to connect ideas, but sentence structures remain very limited and errors are frequent, sometimes making relationships difficult to follow. For example, “This is tue that advances made in agriculture” lacks a complete, correctly formed clause, and “People around the world are more hungry then past” has problems with comparison and sentence structure. There are also recurring issues with articles, agreement, and punctuation, as in “advances in agriculture is.” Practise forming complete sentences and checking subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries.
