Student answer (Band 5.5)

A lot of advances made in agriculture but many people in the world also still hungry. This is because of new developments in houses and also having lack support from government. For fighting against hunger government need to made some policies. Below I will explain some reasons and examples that support my ideas.

First of all, nowadays everyone wants to made a house and also some other develments with concreet. So, mostly fertiled land converted into new houses and apartments. For example in our country mostly businessmen build a lot of farm houses and also other factories that consumes huge land and then it cause decrease in farming.

Secondly, lack in rains also cause decreasing of crops beacuse in this age farmers needs high amount of fuels for runing water pumps and other water sources but fuel prices are too high so, farmers cannot afford it. And a big reason of shortage of food is lack attention of governemnt to Farmers because governemnt does not provide any kind of support to farmers. That is why farmers have no any new technology for farming and also other facilities from governemnt.

There are several solution for that problems such as Governemnt needs to make some policies for agriculture and also some rules for construction of land. If a businessmen and other local citizen wants to construct a factory then governemnt need to provide them a strict notice on it. However, agriculture agencies need to provide several facilities to farmer and also helps them with seed and fertilization.

To sum up, having a lot of facilites for farming but many people in world have no food for surviving, this is because providing lack facilites from governemnt. So governement need to pay heed on agriculture for surving in world.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions by giving possible causes—loss of farmland to construction, limited water for crops, and insufficient government support—and proposing policies, restrictions on construction, and help with seeds and fertiliser. These points are relevant, and the examples about factories and farmhouses help illustrate the first cause. However, the explanation of why agricultural advances have not prevented hunger remains limited: the response focuses mainly on reduced production and does not explain how food access, distribution, or affordability may also contribute. Some proposed actions, such as issuing a strict notice to builders, are not explained in enough detail to show how they would reduce hunger. Develop each main idea with a clearer cause-and-effect explanation and a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two paragraphs on causes, a paragraph on solutions, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “First of all,” “Secondly,” and “To sum up” make the stages easy to follow. However, the links between ideas are sometimes mechanical, and some references are unclear. For example, “that problems” does not clearly identify which problems, while the second cause paragraph moves from lack of rain to fuel costs and then government support without showing how these points connect. The conclusion also repeats the government-support idea rather than bringing together the main causes and solutions. Use clearer referencing and add linking explanations between related points to make progression smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “fertile land,” “crops,” “farmers,” “technology,” and “agriculture.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “water pumps” and “construction of land.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the meaning less clear. Examples include “lack support,” “lack attention,” “facilities for farming,” and “for surviving in world.” Spelling errors such as “develments,” “concreet,” and “governemnt” are also noticeable. Build a more accurate set of phrases for discussing food production, access, and government assistance, and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional structure in “If a businessmen and other local citizen wants to construct a factory…” and a reason clause beginning “because.” This shows some effort to vary sentence forms. However, errors are frequent, and some sentences are difficult to process. For example, “many people in the world also still hungry” is missing a verb, while “farmers needs high amount of fuels” has agreement and article problems. Verb forms are also often inaccurate, as in “government need to made” and “wants to made.” Work first on complete sentence structure, subject–verb agreement, articles, and consistent verb forms. Then practise combining clauses while keeping each sentence grammatically controlled.
