Student answer (Band 4.5)
In spite of the advances made in agriculture people are still hungry because of population.Population is gradually increasing day by day .From my opinion the main reason is population if we will not control the rate of population we will reach at the point where there will be many limited resources and people will start starvation. To control this first we control rate of population because people have no awarness of family plaining and i saw the people that have no monthly income or very limited they have many childrens.from my perspective that is the main reason. I am going to tell from my own expwerience that in my family there is uncle who have no job no monthly income but he have 8 children they have nothing to eat nothing to wear bbut have children because there is no family plaining. So i will give suggestion that we must use social media and aware ppeople about this.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify population growth as a possible reason for hunger and offer social-media awareness and family planning as a response. The family example gives this idea some personal support. However, the task is addressed only partially: the explanation focuses almost entirely on population, without considering other causes such as poverty, conflict, unequal food distribution, or food waste, and the proposed action is not developed beyond a brief suggestion. The response contains 148 words, so it is 102 words below the 250-word minimum; the eight words copied from the prompt are excluded. To strengthen the response, explain more than one cause, develop practical solutions, and support each point with relevant detail.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
There is a basic line of thought: you introduce population growth, give a family example, and then suggest raising awareness. Phrases such as “From my perspective” and “So” attempt to connect your ideas. However, the response is one continuous paragraph, and the progression is difficult to follow because reasons, personal experience, and solutions are not separated into clear stages. Several ideas are repeated, especially that population is the main reason, while links between claims are sometimes unclear. Organise the essay into an introduction, a paragraph explaining causes, a paragraph presenting solutions, and a conclusion. Use linking expressions to show relationships between ideas rather than relying on repeated transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is sufficient to communicate the central topic, with relevant terms such as “resources,” “starvation,” “monthly income,” and “family planning.” The personal example also makes the discussion concrete. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “population,” “people,” and “children.” Spelling errors such as “awarness,” “plaining,” and “expwerience,” along with awkward expressions such as “many limited resources,” make parts of the response less clear. Aim to use more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling carefully. For example, you could describe people as experiencing food insecurity and explain how poverty or unequal access to food contributes to hunger.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example, “if we will not control the rate of population we will reach at the point…” This shows an effort to use conditional structures, but the sentence is not controlled accurately. Errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries occur frequently: “there is uncle who have no job” and “he have 8 children” illustrate problems with articles and subject–verb agreement. Punctuation is also inconsistent, including missing spaces after full stops and a run-on opening. These errors sometimes make the reader work to understand your meaning. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then build longer sentences using correct conditionals and clear punctuation.
