Student answer (Band 6.5)
Despite major advancement is modern farming technology, hunger remains a critical issue for millions of people around the world. This problem is primarily caused by unequal food distribution and economic barriers, but it can be resloved through better government policies and internation cooperation.
There are several reasons why people still go hungry today. First, poverty is major factor, even when food is avilable in the market, many people are not afford to buy it. Secondly, poor distribution systems and food waste prevent essential supplies from reaching remote or conflict affected areas. In many developing world, a lack of poor infrastructure and storage systems, government can not provide free food to the remote area. In addition, poor transportation and road infrastructure cause tons of crops to spoil before they can be consumed.
To solve this problem, governments and international organization must take proactive steps. To begin with, authorities should focus on economic support for low-income communities, such as creating fair-paying jobs and providing food subsides for vulnerable populations. Furthermore, investing in modern supply chains- like refrigerated transport and local storage facilities-can greatly reduce food waste and ensure crops reach the areas that need them most.
In conclusion, while agriculture science has progressed, world hunger persists due to poverty and distribution challenges. By improving wealth distribution and upgrading the road and transportation network, society can take significant steps towards to provide food to remote area and eliminating global hunger. For this kind of steps, government need to invest and make a proper policy to eradicate hunger.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses both questions and presents a clear overall position: poverty and distribution problems cause hunger, while policy and infrastructure improvements could help. The causes are relevant, and the examples of food spoiling in transit and supplies failing to reach remote or conflict-affected areas make the discussion concrete. The proposed remedies—jobs, subsidies, refrigerated transport and storage—also respond directly to the task. This meets the core requirements, while the explanation is uneven: poverty is identified but not explored in much depth, and the final reference to “improving wealth distribution” is not explained as clearly as the infrastructure proposal. To strengthen the response further, develop how each measure would address a specific cause and support the claims with a more precise example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The essay has a clear four-paragraph structure, moving from an introduction to causes, solutions and a conclusion. The progression is easy to follow, and signposts such as “First,” “Secondly,” “To begin with” and “Furthermore” help distinguish the points. The central ideas are generally grouped appropriately. Some connections are less smooth, however: “In many developing world” introduces a sentence whose relationship to the preceding point is unclear, and the shift from food distribution to government provision could be made more explicit. The conclusion also repeats the main points and adds a final policy statement rather than drawing them together concisely. Use clearer links between cause and effect, and avoid stacking several concluding claims.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
The response uses an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “food distribution,” “vulnerable populations,” “supply chains,” “refrigerated transport” and “storage facilities.” These choices communicate the main ideas and show some attempt to use more specific language. However, several spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, such as “resloved,” “avilable,” “subsides” and “internation cooperation.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, including “lack of poor infrastructure” and “agriculture science.” These errors do not prevent understanding, but they limit the accuracy and flexibility of the vocabulary. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for food security and public policy, such as “agricultural advances” and “food subsidies.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
There is a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause in the opening and a conditional structure in “even when food is available in the market.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. For example, “poverty is major factor” needs an article, while “many people are not afford to buy it” has an incorrect verb pattern. The sentence beginning “In many developing world” is also structurally unclear, and “government need to invest” has a subject–verb agreement error. In the conclusion, “steps towards to provide” uses an incorrect preposition pattern. Review articles, agreement and verb complementation, then proofread longer sentences to ensure each clause is complete and correctly connected.
