Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You identify two relevant causes—climate change and population growth—and begin to explain how soil quality and weather can affect food production. However, the response addresses only part of the task: it does not explain the problem fully, and it gives no solutions, despite the question asking what can be done. The example about heavy rain in India is started but left unfinished, so it does not support a complete point. The response is also substantially below the required 250 words, which limits how much explanation and development you can provide. To improve, answer both questions directly, develop each cause with a clear explanation, and include practical measures such as better food distribution or climate-resilient farming.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening introduces the issue, and “On the one hand” signals a move into explanation. The ideas about population, soil and weather are broadly related, so the reader can follow the general topic. However, there is no completed progression from causes to solutions, and the final example stops mid-sentence (“some village”), leaving the paragraph unfinished. The linking phrase “On the one hand” also suggests a contrasting point that never appears. Use separate paragraphs for causes and solutions, connect each idea with clear relationships, and finish examples and sentences so the argument feels complete.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “agriculture,” “food deficiency,” “soil,” “fertilizer,” and “production of crop,” which shows an attempt to discuss food supply specifically. The range is nevertheless limited, and several word choices or forms are inaccurate or awkward, such as “Many population,” “rapid grow of food,” and “vast amount of rain.” Spelling errors in “yeild,” “insectiside,” and “pestiside” are noticeable and can distract the reader. Build a more precise set of phrases for causes and solutions, and check spelling and collocations. For example, “food insecurity,” “crop yields,” and “heavy rainfall” would express these ideas more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response attempts both simple statements and a longer sentence beginning “because,” but the range is limited and errors occur frequently. Examples include the missing article in “In modern era,” the incorrect verb form in “Agriculture becoming,” and agreement problems in “Many population … faces” and “uneven weather play.” The sentence about soil is difficult to follow because its clauses and verb forms do not fit together clearly (“quality of soil and yeild production of crop decrease because of nutrition of land are washed”). Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles and complete sentence structures first; then use a few controlled complex sentences to explain cause and effect.
