Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify several relevant causes, including flooding, unequal food distribution, traditional farming methods and population growth, and you offer possible responses such as supporting farmers and improving distribution. However, the task is only partially addressed: most points are listed rather than explained, and the proposed measures are not clearly linked to particular causes. For example, explain how better transport or storage could reduce regional food shortages, and how investment in modern farming could raise yields. The response also ends mid-sentence at “Research about the new ways for farming which re”, leaving the final proposal incomplete. It contains 206 words, below the required 250, so there is limited space to develop and support the ideas.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some organisation: the response moves from an introduction to causes and then to possible solutions, and this broad sequence is appropriate. However, the progression within paragraphs is not always clear. The causes are crowded together in one block, while the solutions are split across short paragraphs without a developed conclusion. Linking words such as “Moreover” and “but conversely” are attempted, but some connections feel mechanical or unclear, and punctuation often runs ideas together. For instance, “Other reason is uneven distribution…” follows the flood point without showing how the two causes relate. Use distinct paragraphs for causes and solutions, connect each point explicitly, and finish with a brief concluding statement.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “uneven distribution of resources,” “traditional ways of agriculture,” “agricultural demands” and “flood management.” These choices show an attempt to discuss the issue beyond very basic terms. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form and collocation errors make parts less clear, such as “depands,” “alot,” “inappropiate,” “littile,” “fertilize land” and “starvation.” Some phrases are also imprecise: “number of starvation” would be clearer as “the number of people facing hunger,” while “relief plan for farmers” could be expressed more specifically as “financial support for farmers.” Check spelling and choose natural collocations consistently.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a cause-and-effect structure in “Increased population cause rise in the agricultural demands but conversely littile progress is made to tackle this issue.” However, control is inconsistent, and frequent errors can make the reader pause. Examples include subject–verb agreement (“many developing countries facing”), missing or incorrect articles (“a vital role in the success of any nation”), plural and possessive forms (“nation or country's”), and sentence boundaries, as in “increasing. Many developing countries.” Capitalisation is also inconsistent. Practise building accurate complete sentences first, then combine related ideas using clauses such as “because” and “although.” Proofread for agreement, articles, punctuation and sentence completion; the unfinished final sentence also disrupts grammatical clarity.
