Student answer (Band 5.5)
Although agriculture technology has improved significantly, a huge amount of people still suffers from hunger. This is because of poverty, lack of management and conflict between countries.
To begin with, poverty is the main reason why majority of people face difficulty to get proper food, most of people all around the world facing hunger because food is expensive and not avilable in their country. Another reason for this issue is that, lack of management and unusual taxes on food that imported from different countries, scuh as cotton, weed, and rice.
Many dealers sell food at high rate, due to this people who earn less unable to get food with their income.
In addition, conflict between countries is also a major problem, during war and anger between two countries effect the trade and agriculture of world. During war basic item such as oil, fruits and dairy items increase in price and sell in black market with high price. For example, during war between Iran and The US effect the agriculture, most of food item increased in price because of closing trade routes. I believe, there should be a law where
government need to reduce taxes on agriculture and food that imported from different countries, along with this take strict action again those who sell item on high pirce.
To sum up, I believe import should be tax free and resolving anger issues between countries allow people to buy food and other agriculture item such as, barley wheat, rice and fruits in cheap rate.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both questions: poverty, food costs and conflict are offered as causes, while reducing import taxes and acting against sellers who charge excessive prices are proposed as responses. Your position is clear, and the examples about trade routes and food prices are relevant. However, some points are not fully explained. For instance, “lack of management” is named but not clarified, and the discussion of conflict focuses on price rises without showing in detail how these affect food availability or hunger. The proposed solutions are also quite narrow; explain how they would work and consider another measure, such as improving food distribution or supporting low-income households. This would make the relevant ideas more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for causes and conflict, and a concluding summary. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with” and “In addition” help signal the main points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from poverty to taxes and then dealers without clearly showing how these ideas connect. Some linking is mechanical, and references such as “this issue” and “this” do not always make the relationship between ideas precise. The solution is also placed at the end of the conflict paragraph, making the response’s organisation less clear. Use one paragraph for causes and another for solutions, with clearer links between each claim and its explanation.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “agriculture,” “poverty,” “trade routes,” “black market” and “imported,” so the reader can understand the subject and your main points. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning less clear. For example, “a huge amount of people” is not a natural expression, “unusual taxes” is vague, and “anger between two countries” does not precisely describe political conflict. There are also spelling errors such as “avilable,” “scuh” and “pirce.” Aim for more precise phrases and check spelling carefully; this will help you express cause-and-effect relationships more clearly and avoid repeating general terms such as “food” and “item.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including explanations introduced by “because” and examples introduced by “For example.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in agreement, articles, sentence boundaries and clause structure occur often enough to make some sentences difficult to read. For example, “a huge amount of people still suffers” has a mismatch between the plural noun and verb, while “most of people all around the world facing hunger” lacks a finite verb and an article. The sentence beginning “during war and anger between two countries” is also not grammatically complete. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and punctuation when joining clauses.
