Student answer (Band 6.0)
Agriculture has been one of the key factors to economy since the birth of humankind. Farmers have saved the world from hunger by growing crops and foods. With the advancement of technology, there have been several developments in agriculture sector as well. Yet many people still suffer from hunger around the world.
Once people used to take farming as a career. They used to grow different types of crops all around the year. They had to work hard on the field all day long. Technology has reduced their tasks by introducing tractors, water pumps and different types of machines. But along with the advantages, technology has a diverse effect on the workforce as well. The farmers started feeling there is no need to continue working on the field anymore, rather they started to move to the cities in search of new job. Many farmers moved from farming to ride rickshaws or trucks in the towns or cities. Another reason of the rduced number of farming is that they were never paid with the amount of money they deserved for their hard work. They had to sell their goods in low price in villages. Hence they lost interest in farming. Without a good number of workforce, it's not possible to serve with food to the huge population of the world.
To solve this problem, the young generation must be encouraged to take agriculture as a profession. They must be taught about the proper use of technology in this field. Moreover, the current farmers need to be paid with the righteous price of their goods. Seminars and surveys need to be arranged in the villages to make them realize that they are the driving factor of a country. Overall, both technology and human resource have to work together to meet the world hunger.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses both questions: it identifies reduced interest in farming and low returns as reasons for hunger, then proposes encouraging young people, teaching technology use, and paying farmers fairly. These are relevant ideas, and the conclusion reinforces the need for technology and human resources to work together. However, the explanation is narrower than the task requires: it largely attributes hunger to a shortage of farm workers, without exploring other causes such as poverty, unequal food distribution, conflict, or food waste. Some proposed actions, including village seminars and surveys, are mentioned but not explained in terms of how they would increase food access or production. Develop a broader range of causes and show more clearly how each solution addresses them.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a clear overall structure, moving from an introduction to causes, solutions, and a concluding summary. The second paragraph groups the reasons together, while the final paragraph signals the shift to solutions with “To solve this problem.” Linking expressions such as “Yet,” “Moreover,” and “Hence” help readers follow the argument. At times, however, the progression is somewhat mechanical, and connections between claims could be made more explicit. For example, the move from machinery reducing farmers’ tasks to farmers leaving for city jobs needs a clearer explanation of why mechanisation leads to that outcome. The reference in “they were never paid” is also not fully clear. Use more precise links and develop the relationship between ideas within paragraphs.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The response uses a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “crops,” “tractors,” “workforce,” “profession,” and “human resource,” so the main ideas are generally clear. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “the driving factor of a country.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “a diverse effect,” “sell their goods in low price,” and “the righteous price.” “The rduced number of farming” is also unclear and contains a spelling error. These issues do not prevent understanding, but they limit precision and naturalness. Focus on common academic collocations and accurate word forms, for example, “a significant effect,” “sell their produce at a low price,” and “a fair price.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including time clauses (“Once people used to take farming as a career”) and a conditional structure (“Without a good number of workforce, it's not possible…”). Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, and the paragraphing helps make the argument accessible. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with articles, prepositions, and sentence construction. For instance, “in agriculture sector” needs an article, and “take agriculture as a profession” would be more naturally formed as “take up agriculture as a profession.” In “they were never paid with the amount of money,” the preposition and structure are inaccurate. Review article use and preposition patterns, and check that longer sentences express the relationship between clauses clearly.
