Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, advancements in the agricultural fields have significantly boosted the production of food worldwide. The world hunger crisis has been reduced to a large extent with the help of the new technologies. However, there are still many countries around the world that still suffer from the lack of nutrition. Why is this happening and what can we do about it?
Despite the new technologies found in farming that have assisted in providing more food, there are still many regions that lack it. This mainly stems from the political environment in the growing countries as global orginizations tend to be negatively affected by it due to the selfishness of certain leaders in the area. In other words, global orginizations are not able to supply certain areas. Furthermore, another major cause for this issue is the lack of availability for the new tools and chemicals that are crucial for the application of the modern techniques of farming. For instance, In many parts of Africa, modern fertliziation materials are widely lacking in the market. As a result, inefficient basic fertlizers are still broadly used there and the amount of food produced are considered limited.
There are however numerous solutions that could be taken into account to tackle this dillema. Firsly, global recognition of this problem is mandatory and globalistation should be widely promoted between major countries and organizations to be able to start supplying sufficient amount of food to the affected regions. Secondly, modern agricultural tools and materials should be exported all around the world in order to be available for local use.
In conclusion, new technologies of farming have played a crucial role in feeding more people. However, obstacles still exist and numerous people are still hungry. these obstacles can still be adjusted through globalisation in addition to supplying the lacking countries with the required tools for the use of the modern techniques of farming.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both questions and maintain a relevant focus: you identify political barriers and limited access to modern farming inputs as causes, then propose international food support and exporting agricultural tools. The example of fertilizer shortages in parts of Africa helps illustrate one cause. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the link between leaders’ “selfishness” and organizations being unable to supply regions needs a clearer account of how this happens. The proposed solutions also need more detail about how food aid or equipment would reach people and improve access. Develop each cause-and-solution pairing with a specific explanation or example to make the response more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, one on solutions, and a conclusion. The progression from explaining the problem to suggesting action is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Furthermore,” “Firstly,” and “Secondly” help guide the reader. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent arrangement and shows some features of stronger organisation. However, the linking is occasionally mechanical, and the relationship between ideas is not always fully clear—for instance, the claim about political conditions and global organisations could be connected more explicitly. The conclusion largely repeats the introduction and body. Use clearer referencing and transitions that show cause and effect, and make the final paragraph synthesise the main points.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “agricultural techniques,” “modern technologies,” “fertilizers,” and “affected regions,” so the main ideas are generally clear. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “tackle this dilemma.” However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling reduce precision: “globalistation” appears to be intended as “globalisation,” while “global recognition” and “sufficient amount of food” are not the most natural expressions in context. Several spelling errors, including “orginizations,” “fertliziation,” and “dillema,” are noticeable. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common word partnerships, such as “raise awareness” and “a sufficient supply of food.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including subordinate clauses such as “Despite the new technologies found in farming…” and “in order to be available for local use.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, and the overall argument remains understandable. Some grammatical errors persist, however. In “the amount of food produced are considered limited,” the singular subject requires “is,” and “these obstacles” should begin with a capital letter after the full stop in the conclusion. The sentence beginning “This mainly stems…” is also difficult to follow because its clauses and references are not clearly controlled. Review subject–verb agreement, sentence boundaries, and clause structure, then proofread for punctuation and capitalization.
