Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You identify the broad issue—people remain hungry despite agricultural advances—and begin to suggest that reduced food production and a shortage of workers may contribute. However, the response addresses only the causes question in a very limited way and does not explain what should be done, so the task is only minimally answered. The ideas are also not developed: for example, you mention a decrease in food production but do not explain why it occurs or how it leads to hunger. The response is below the required 250 words, which further limits the opportunity to explain and support your points. To improve, answer both questions directly, develop each main idea with explanation or an example, and include practical solutions such as improving food distribution or supporting small farmers.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening introduces the issue, and “One the one hand” signals a move towards a cause. The ideas about agriculture, food production and workers are broadly related, so the reader can follow the general topic. However, the response ends without a developed sequence of points, a solutions section or a conclusion. The linking phrase “One the one hand” also suggests a contrasting point that never follows, and the opening question does not establish a clear essay structure. Use separate paragraphs for causes and solutions, connect each explanation to the next with clear references, and finish with a brief summary.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “agriculture,” “production of food,” “source of food” and “workers,” which makes the subject recognisable. There are also attempts to express cause and effect, such as “decrease in production” and “effect negatively.” However, inaccurate spelling and word forms—such as “significante,” “agriculter” and “deficiency”—and unnatural combinations such as “a numerous of individuals” reduce clarity and control. The range is also narrow, with repeated references to food and people. Build a small set of accurate topic phrases, and check spelling and collocations; for example, use “a large number of people” and “a shortage of agricultural workers.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both a longer opening sentence and a conditional structure in “if there a slight decrease in production of food that will be a real problem.” This shows some willingness to use more than simple statements. However, sentence control is inconsistent: the conditional is missing a verb (“if there is”), and the response contains agreement and article problems, as in “agriculter play” and “a several people.” The opening also joins several ideas with little punctuation, making the sentence difficult to process. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles and plural forms, and punctuate longer sentences by separating the main ideas. A reliable pattern such as “If food production falls, more people may face hunger” would help.
