Student answer (Band 5.0)

When we compare the ancient agricultural methods with the present day's agricultural methods we can bserve a huge generational gap.In today's modern world we have a lot of advances made in the field of agriculture, and its still advancing.

In the ancient times people used good seeds and they produced good quality yield but as the population kept increasing the number of consumers also increased .But the concerning problems were the pests ,pests also increased with this and it damaged the crops .Indivisulas started usin very harmful pesticides that could have adverse effect on the consumers. But thanks to the modern day technologies, indivisuals have started using less toxic pesticides and insecticides.

Even though there are advances made in agriculture ,many people around the world go hungry. The main reason for this might be overgrowth of population.Thre are a lot of people out there but the yield from agriculture is limited. There are still many ongoing researches to increase the yield but it takes a lot of time to implement on real life senarios.

The agriculturists do not actually get the technologically andvanced seeds and equipments at a low expense. For the time being this problem can be prevented temporarily by providing the farmers with a cheap rate of agricultural equipments,so that they can produce the commercially superior quality of the production.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You address both questions by identifying population growth and limited agricultural output as reasons for hunger, then suggesting cheaper equipment for farmers. However, the response only partially develops these points: it does not explain clearly how hunger persists despite advances, such as through unequal food distribution, poverty, conflict, or barriers to access. The discussion of pesticides and crop damage is relevant to agriculture but is not clearly connected to the question. Your proposed solution is also brief and its likely impact is not explained. The response is 207 words, below the 250-word minimum; the nine words copied from the prompt are not counted. Develop each cause and solution with explanation or a relevant example to address the task more fully.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from agricultural change to causes of hunger and then to a possible solution. Linking expressions such as “Even though” and “For the time being” help signal relationships between ideas. However, the overall progression is not always clear: the opening paragraph and the discussion of pesticides do not lead directly into the later explanation of hunger, and the connection between population growth and limited yield needs to be made more explicit. Some transitions are mechanical, and punctuation spacing makes several sentences run together visually. Organise the essay around the two task questions, with a distinct paragraph for causes and another for solutions, and use clear references to connect each point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “agricultural methods,” “pesticides,” “yield,” “consumers,” and “agriculturists,” which helps communicate the subject. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “commercially superior quality.” However, spelling errors are noticeable, including “bserve,” “Indivisulas,” “usin,” and “Thre,” and some expressions are awkward or imprecise, such as “huge generational gap” and “cheap rate of agricultural equipments.” These choices sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Build accuracy by checking spelling and using natural collocations, for example, “affordable farming equipment” and “increase crop yields.” A wider range of precise terms for food access and distribution would also help address the question.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a contrast clause beginning “Even though” and a reason clause with “as the population kept increasing.” This shows some structural variety, but control is inconsistent. Several sentences contain faulty or unclear constructions, such as “The main reason for this might be overgrowth of population” and “The agriculturists do not actually get the technologically andvanced seeds and equipments at a low expense.” There are also errors in articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries; for example, “its still advancing” needs an apostrophe and a clearer subject, while “a lot of advances made” lacks a complete verb construction. Use shorter, complete sentences where needed, then check articles, verb forms, and punctuation before adding complex clauses.
