Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, agriculture sector increased their production by using modern technology. However, it is true that most individual did not get enough food for survive. Because there are several reasons behind this view such as proverty and unequal food distribution and also climate change. From my perspective, there are some measures which helps to overcome this problem.

Firstly, the most important reasons behind this phenomenon is that proverty and unequal food distribution. In our society, maximum people incomes are low. so they did not buy proper nutritious food for themselves. Poor families, for example, are unable to buy basic needs, which impact in their health. Although, agriculture sector is increasing, the natural disasters or climate change are one of the reasons behind this view. Because of changing climate day by day, it's destroy the crops and reduce the food supply. For instance, farmers may lose their entire harvest when severe floods destroy their fields. Therefore, agriculture production may increase day by day through advance technology but the crops or food does not reach to the general people.

For this phenomenon, Governments can play a vital role to reduce this problem. Governments give financial support to these people who lives in proverty. In contrast, they assist them to get rid of proverty. For example, governments can distribute rice and other basic food items to low-income families during periods of economic hardship. Closely linked to this fact is that we can improve food storage system and also distribution. As we know, our maximum harvest may lose by natural disaster or climate change. If we work on it, it will be beneficial for us. For instance, farmers can use refrigerated storage and improved transport systems to supply fresh food to remote communities.

In conclusion, there are a lot of problem behind this phenomenon. If we solve these problems, we will easily overcome this national problem.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions by identifying poverty, unequal distribution and climate-related crop losses, then proposing financial assistance, food distribution, storage and transport improvements. The examples of floods destroying harvests and refrigerated storage serving remote communities make the response relevant. However, some ideas are more fully explained than others: poverty and low purchasing power are linked clearly, while unequal distribution is named but not explored in detail. The final paragraph also refers generally to “a lot of problem” without summarising the specific causes and solutions already discussed. To strengthen the response, explain how food can fail to reach people despite adequate production, and make the conclusion draw together your main points.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “For instance” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main stages, and the examples generally sit beside the ideas they support. Some connections are mechanical or unclear, however. “Although, agriculture sector is increasing” does not connect smoothly to the following point, and “For this phenomenon” is an imprecise transition into the solutions. The repeated use of “this view” and “this problem” also makes references vague. Use more precise links between cause and effect, and organise each body paragraph around a clearly stated main idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “food distribution,” “natural disasters,” “food supply,” “financial support” and “refrigerated storage.” These choices allow you to discuss both causes and practical responses. However, several spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “proverty,” “maximum people incomes” and “advance technology.” Some phrases are also unnatural or repetitive, such as “behind this view” and “overcome this national problem.” Aim for accurate collocations and a wider range of precise terms for access to food, crop losses and assistance. Proofreading spelling and choosing natural combinations of words would make your meaning clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “If we work on it, it will be beneficial for us” and a relative clause in “families, which impact in their health.” Some sentence patterns communicate the main ideas, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence boundaries occur. For example, “the most important reasons … is” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “it's destroy the crops” uses an incorrect verb form. The opening fragment beginning “Because there are several reasons” is also not joined correctly to the preceding sentence. Practise checking each sentence for a complete clause, a correctly matched subject and verb, and accurate use of articles and plurals.
