Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions by identifying conflict and weak agricultural support as causes, then proposing international funding, infrastructure and peace-building. The examples of Sudan and Somalia make the discussion relevant, and your overall response is clear. However, some points are asserted rather than explained: for example, you mention food being looted and crops being damaged, but do not show how these factors combine to leave communities without reliable supplies. The solutions are also less fully developed than the causes; explain what infrastructure or funding would provide, such as irrigation, storage or secure transport. The reference to a lack of agricultural skills appears only in the conclusion and is not developed in the essay. More balanced explanation and support would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for causes and solutions, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “In addition,” and “To sum up” help readers follow the main stages of the argument. This coherent arrangement meets the expected standard, and the ideas generally progress logically. To make the flow more polished, avoid relying on formulaic transitions and connect related points more explicitly. For instance, the paragraph on conflict moves from damaged crops to looting and then to irrigation without clearly showing how these problems relate. The phrase “these problems” in the solutions paragraph could also refer more precisely to the specific causes. Clearer links and more precise referencing would strengthen cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “starvation,” “civil war,” “irrigation,” “fertilizers,” and “non-state actors,” which helps communicate the subject. There is also some attempt to use more formal language, such as “collective body” and “construct an infrastructure.” However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural combinations are noticeable, including “currenty,” “yeild,” “insfrastructure,” “handdle,” and “pave a road toward.” Some choices, such as “movements of heavy vehicles,” do not clearly express the intended idea. Aim for accurate spelling and natural collocations, and choose precise terms for the mechanisms causing hunger. This would make the vocabulary more reliable and easier to interpret.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a concessive opening with “Although” and a relative clause in “regions where people face hunger and starvation.” These structures show some range, and the main message is generally understandable. However, some errors in sentence construction and verb forms remain. For example, “Although there are multiple techniques … but still” incorrectly combines two contrasting structures; use “Although …, people still…” instead. In “people around the world facing starvation,” the main verb is missing, while “The possible steps can be take” needs the passive form “can be taken.” There are also issues with articles and agreement, as in “an organization” followed by “a organization.” Review complete clause structure, verb forms and article use to improve accuracy.
