Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions and maintain a relevant focus on hunger despite agricultural progress. Poverty and unequal food distribution are identified as causes, while employment, financial support and food banks are offered as responses. The examples help make the points concrete, particularly the reference to food banks. However, some ideas are asserted rather than explained: the discussion of Africa is unclear and over-generalised, and the link between agricultural production and people’s access to food could be developed more precisely. The proposed solutions would be stronger if you explained how governments could improve distribution or ensure support reaches those most in need. Overall, the task is covered, but some points are less fully developed than others.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs addressing causes and solutions, and a conclusion. Signposting such as “In answer to the first question” and “Regarding the second question” helps readers follow the organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because ideas are joined mechanically or references are unclear. For example, “this problems” and “they ensure to get food” leave the reader unsure what the pronouns refer to, while the sentence about Africa combines several points without a clear sequence. The conclusion repeats the main ideas but is difficult to interpret. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each explanation directly to its supporting example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “unequal distribution,” “poverty,” “financial support,” “low income families” and “food banks,” so the main subject is generally clear. There are also attempts to use more formal expressions, such as “address this issue.” However, the range is limited by repeated wording around hunger, food and poverty, and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make meaning unclear. Phrases such as “the agriculture made innovated,” “take better food” and “death of a beautiful teenagers” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Aim for precise, conventional combinations such as “agricultural advances,” “distribute food” and “deaths among young people.” Greater accuracy and variety would make your argument easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a cause-and-effect structure with “as a result” and a conditional explanation beginning “This would assist people.” However, errors in sentence construction and verb forms are frequent enough to make some passages difficult to follow. Examples include “the agriculture are become advance,” “Government ought to be give,” and “it lead to they may not remain hungry.” Subject–verb agreement, articles and plural forms also need attention, as in “this problems” and “a numerous individuals.” Some sentences contain several clauses without clear grammatical links. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses, checking verb agreement and tense in each clause.
