Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions: climate-related disasters and unemployment are offered as causes, while government support and aid from developed countries are proposed as responses. These ideas are relevant, but they are only partly developed. For example, you say floods and droughts harm crops, but do not explain how this leads to hunger across different regions or why agricultural advances fail to reach those affected. The proposed financial aid and food, clothing, and housing are also broad; explain how assistance would improve access to food or support farming. Your position is clear in general, though the introduction’s claim that governments can provide financial aid is not developed into a specific solution. More explanation and a relevant example would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, one on solutions, and a conclusion. The reader can follow the main progression from reasons for hunger to possible action. You also use linking expressions such as “As a result,” “Additionally,” and “In conclusion,” which help signal relationships between ideas. However, some transitions feel mechanical or do not accurately express the connection, and repeated sequencing phrases such as “The first and foremost” and “the second cause” make the discussion formulaic. Within paragraphs, several ideas are joined in long strings, so the relationship between claims is not always clear. Use fewer, more precise connectors and separate cause, consequence, and example into clearly linked sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “climate changes,” “natural disasters,” “droughts,” “unemployment,” and “financial aid,” so the reader can identify the subject and main ideas. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or unnatural choices make parts of the response difficult to read. Phrases such as “living in hungerness,” “a huge numbers,” and “strong bond” do not express the intended meaning naturally; “hunger,” “a huge number,” and “stronger ties” would be more appropriate. There are also spelling errors, including “thechnology,” “worls,” and “addresed.” Build a bank of accurate collocations for food insecurity and agricultural support, and check spelling and word forms during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including cause-and-effect structures with “because” and “as a result.” This gives the response some variety, but complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make reading less smooth. For example, “there are a different natural disasters are create” combines incompatible structures, while “it can harmful” is missing a verb form. Agreement and sentence construction are also problematic in “a low income families can not afford a meal.” Punctuation is inconsistent, particularly where commas and spaces are missing after introductory phrases. Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them using conjunctions; check subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete verb phrases.
