Student answer (Band 5.0)
Altough significant progress has made in agriculture sector, many individuals around the globe are still suffering from poverty and hunger. This is mainly due to depriving the enough agricultural land to the poor population. The problems such as distribution of food in rural areas and the political instability are the key factors of hungerness in large population. The proper mechanism of distribution of food and controlled prices are the ultimate solutions to this problem.
To begin with, most of the food goes to the urban areas of the world. While population in rural areas become deprive to the necessary and basic food. The prices of the food become too high and the general populace of different nations could not afford the basic food. Other factors such as, political instability is the main reason behind the hike of food prices.
On the other hand, the basic food should be properly distributed across the whole country. It should be properly stored in cold stores to distribute the food in a whole year. When the food will be available all the year then the prices of the food will be under control. The prices will remain stable. For example, In 2018 China made cold stores to save the excess food. In 2020, China was under the severe drought, however they used the stored food. In this way, their prices were remained same through this period.
In conclusion, the most countries who are facing hunger to certain

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You address both questions by identifying possible causes—unequal access to food, high prices and political instability—and proposing distribution and storage as solutions. The cold-storage example gives one idea some support. However, the causes are not fully explained: the opening claim about poor people being deprived of agricultural land is unclear, and the discussion does not show how agricultural advances fail to reach hungry communities. The solutions also focus mainly on storage and price stability, with little explanation of how food would be distributed fairly. The conclusion is unfinished (“the most countries who are facing hunger to certain”), so your final position is not clearly summarised. The response is also 7 words below the required minimum. Develop each cause and solution with clear explanation and complete the conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction to causes, solutions and an attempted conclusion. Paragraphing helps the reader distinguish these sections, and phrases such as “To begin with” and “On the other hand” signal changes in focus. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the opening moves quickly from land access to food distribution and political instability without showing how these points connect. Some linking is mechanical or inaccurate, and repeated references to “the prices of the food” make the discussion feel repetitive. The final sentence is incomplete, which disrupts the overall organisation. Build clearer links between each cause and its explanation, use referencing more precisely, and ensure the conclusion completes the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “agricultural sector,” “political instability,” “distributed” and “stored,” which helps communicate the main subject. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “cold stores” and “severe drought.” However, several word choices and forms are inaccurate or unnatural, including “hungerness,” “depriving the enough agricultural land,” “become deprive,” and “prices were remained same.” These expressions sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow. Spelling errors such as “Altough” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural collocations and check word forms: for example, use “hunger,” “access to sufficient farmland,” and “remain stable.” This would make your vocabulary more precise while retaining the relevant range you already show.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “While” and a conditional structure with “When the food will be available.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “Although significant progress has made” is missing an auxiliary, while “population in rural areas become” has problems with articles and subject–verb agreement. The sentence beginning “While population…” is a fragment, and “the prices were remained” uses an incorrect verb construction. Tense choices in the China example are also inconsistent. Practise complete clause structures, agreement, articles and verb forms, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and finite verb.
