Student answer (Band 5.5)

In spite of high tech development in agriculture, many people go hungary around the world.

It is because people are unemployed and they have no earning source. Other reason is high price of the food, which makes it difficult for the people who are financly weak to purchase food. To solve this problem global government should come together and run a project which can provde food to the poor and lowering the the prices of the food will also work.

Affordibilty of food, fruits, vegetable and Dairy product have gone expensive, which makes it hard to purchase for the people who are below poverty level. Many people around the world are either unemployed or their earning is below average. Which make it purchasing food difficult for them, leading into hunger or starvation. For example beggers, it is very difficult for them to survive in a place, where expenses are higher than earning. It gives birth to more and more people who are below poverty. Unemployment is another reason for this case, no job means no food to eat. Such popple are the most affected by hunger.

Firstly, global government should provide more jobs to deal with unemployment. Maximum people are without a proper degree, which means labour intense jobs will be required for them. This will solve the problem of unemployment and give them a earning source. which can eventually reduce the hunger or starvation ration around the world. Secondly reducing the price of the most common food availible can help the people who are below poverty level. This will unable them to purchase food easily, resulting in a society where no people starve.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions by identifying unemployment and high food prices as causes, then proposing job creation and cheaper staple foods. These points are relevant, and the example of people whose expenses exceed their earnings helps illustrate how poverty can lead to hunger. However, the response only partly develops the task: it focuses mainly on people’s inability to afford food and says little about other possible causes, such as unequal distribution or food waste. The proposed global project is also vague, and the later solutions need more explanation of how governments could create jobs or reduce prices. Develop each main point with a clearer explanation or a specific example, and make the relationship between the causes and solutions more explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an opening, a paragraph on causes, and one on solutions. The sequence from unemployment and affordability to possible remedies is generally understandable, and signposts such as “Firstly” and “Secondly” help identify the two proposals. However, progression is weakened by repetition: unemployment and high prices are introduced in the opening and then restated in similar terms. Some links are awkward or unclear, particularly the sentence beginning “Which make it purchasing food difficult,” and the opening paragraph’s ideas are compressed together. Use clearer topic sentences, avoid repeating the same point, and connect each explanation directly to its example or proposed action. This would make the organisation more consistent and the relationships between ideas easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “unemployed,” “poverty,” “starvation,” and “labour intense jobs,” so the reader can understand the main concerns. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors are noticeable. Examples include “hungary” for “hungry,” “financly weak,” “Affordibilty,” and “earning source.” Some phrases, such as “global government” and “starvation ration,” are unclear or unnatural, which can make parts of the argument harder to interpret. Aim for more precise topic vocabulary and check spelling and word forms carefully. Replacing repeated general terms like “food” and “people” with accurate alternatives where appropriate would also improve flexibility.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Most of your sentences use straightforward structures, and you attempt some longer sentences to explain causes and effects. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence formation, agreement, and punctuation sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “Which make it purchasing food difficult for them” is a fragment, while “Affordibilty of food, fruits, vegetable and Dairy product have gone expensive” has problems with the sentence structure and agreement. The lowercase “which” after a full stop in “earning source. which can eventually…” also disrupts accuracy. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and punctuation when joining ideas. A wider range of accurately controlled sentence patterns would strengthen the response.
