Student answer (Band 6.0)

Humans are suffering from food shortages despite being improvements made in agriculture. In my opinion, population growth-rate and lack of transport facilities for movements of goods are cosidered as the main reasons, while it may be solved by decreasing birth-rate and creating a proper transportation infrastructure.

Agricultural sector has seen many improvements in tecnologies for producing more goods but still it is not enough for the people worldwide. I believe, it is because of rising birth-rate. For example, world population has increased by double in last 10 years, which creates scarcity of food. Though more crops are produced by developing technology, it is not enough to meet the demand. In addition, i think, poor system for transporting the goods is another cause. for an example, many rural areas in the world produce decent amount of crops but due to weak transit system people aren't able to reach there and it results in a waste. As a result, people remain hungry.

For solving the food problem, the main solution is controlling the birth-rate by increasing mass awareness. Programs should be arranged by government or organizations, where they will aware rural people about the benefits of a small family. Moreover, they may provide birth control items for preventing unintentional pregnacy. In addition, a proper transportation infrastructure should be developed for fast commuting. As a result, the goods from the rural areas can be reached quickly and it will be easier to deliver the goods in the crowded areas, which will reduce rotting of crops and scarcity will be reduced.

Food scarcity problem is still present in the world, though agricultural technology has advanced due to overpopulation and improper transportation. However, these problems may be solved by controling birth-rate and improving transit system.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions and maintain a clear position: you identify population growth and weak transport as causes, then propose awareness and birth-control programmes alongside better infrastructure. The examples about rural crops being unable to reach consumers help explain the transport problem. However, some claims are under-developed or unclear. For instance, the statement that the world population “has increased by double in last 10 years” is not explained or supported, and the link between birth-rate reduction and immediate hunger relief needs more detail. The solutions are relevant, but could be made more convincing by explaining who should fund or implement transport improvements and how food distribution could be improved beyond rural roads.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions, and a conclusion. The reader can follow the main progression from food shortages to their causes and possible remedies. Linking expressions such as “In addition,” “For example,” and “As a result” help connect points, although some are used mechanically or awkwardly, and the repeated “In addition” pattern makes the development feel formulaic. The example about rural production is relevant, but the reference to “there” is not fully clear, and some sentences combine several steps in the argument without smooth transitions. Use clearer referencing and vary how you connect explanations and examples to make the progression more natural.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “food shortages,” “birth-rate,” “transportation infrastructure,” and “scarcity.” There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “unintentional pregnancy” and “rotting of crops.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “movements of goods,” “weak transit system,” “aware rural people,” and “fast commuting.” Spelling errors such as “tecnologies,” “cosidered,” and “pregnacy” also reduce accuracy. These issues do not prevent understanding, but they limit precision and naturalness. Build a bank of common collocations for agriculture, distribution, and public policy, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses with “though,” “while,” and “which,” and most of the argument remains understandable. Some grammatical errors occur, particularly with articles, sentence boundaries, and clause construction. For example, “For an example” is not formed correctly, and “where they will aware rural people” is missing a verb structure; “they will make rural people aware” would be grammatical. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in lowercase “i” and “for” after full stops. There are some long sentences where the relationships between clauses are not clearly controlled. Practise accurate sentence patterns for explaining causes and results, and proofread for complete clauses, articles, and punctuation.
