Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent years, agriculture development has still caused people to starved, which has become a increasing common issue in the society. Although this trend can be attributed to several underlying factors , there are some meaures that can be used to addressed this issue. This essay will examine the cause that is because the prices are increasing rapidly and there are less job opportunities which leads to hunger even after the development of agriculture.

There are several reasons why this change has caused pervasive problems.

One of the main reason is poverty, which is why people are unable to afford the costs of living. As a result, they are unable to access the food resources as they don't have money to buy it. For instance, the prices are increasing day by day and because of that people are likely to starevd as they can not meet the costs of food. Another significant factor is that there are less job opportunites, therby people are more likely to earn less. As a result, people are unable to buy food for themselves.

There are several measures that can be used to address this issue. One effective solution is that government should lower the prices. This could be achieved by reducing taxes. As a result, people will be able to afford food for themselves. Another useful measure would be giving more employement opportunities and raise the salary. For example, increase in salary can help prevent hunger, as they can buy easily even in inflation.

In conclusion, starving of people even after agriculture development is because of low employement opportunities and rising prices of agricultural products, though I believe if governent lower the prices no one would go hungry.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions: poverty and rising food costs are offered as reasons, while lower prices, tax reductions, and more employment are proposed as responses. These points are relevant, but the explanation remains limited, which fits this level. For example, the essay says people cannot afford food because prices rise, but does not explain why agricultural advances have failed to make food accessible or how poverty and job scarcity arise. The solutions are also asserted rather than explored; lowering taxes is mentioned without explaining how this would reduce food prices. The conclusion restates the main points, but its claim that lower prices would mean “no one would go hungry” is too absolute. Develop each cause and solution with clearer reasoning or a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for causes and solutions, and a conclusion. This gives the reader a basic route through the answer. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes repetitive: the causes paragraph repeatedly links rising prices or low income to being unable to buy food, without adding much further explanation. Connectors such as “As a result” and “Another” help signal relationships, but their repeated use makes the links feel mechanical. The opening also promises to examine “the cause” and then shifts to plural causes, which weakens the focus. Improve cohesion by making each paragraph develop one distinct point in sequence and using clearer references to link examples back to that point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “poverty,” “costs of living,” “food resources,” “employment opportunities,” and “inflation.” This is enough to communicate the main ideas, but the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, word-form, and spelling errors reduce precision. Examples include “agriculture development,” “starved,” “meaures,” “opportunites,” and “employement.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “starevd” and “buy easily even in inflation.” Aim to learn accurate topic collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise expressions would help distinguish food production from people’s ability to access food, which is central to this question.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a relative clause in “poverty, which is why people are unable to afford the costs of living” and a conditional structure in “if government lower the prices.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, and articles sometimes make the meaning less clear. For example, “agriculture development has still caused people to starved” has an incorrect verb pattern, while “there are less job opportunities” has an agreement and countability problem. The final conditional also needs a correctly formed subject and verb. Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them using relative clauses and conditionals; check each sentence for a clear subject, correctly formed verb, and appropriate article.
