Student answer (Band 5.5)

In recent times, several advancement has been implemented in farming sector, but still people around the world facing the hunger problems. However, these situations are happening because of a nature and man made cases. Also, these problems can be solved by giving the knowledge about agriculture. I will discuss about causes and how it can be done in below paragraphh.

Initially, farmers are using more advanced machinery, and organic liquids to pour in farms to grow the vegetables and fruits. Therefore, it is being expensive to produce and resell to the pubic because of the higher rates many people, who are middle class are not willing to buy after watching the prices of vegetables, instead they are preferring packaged food items to eat. On the other side, poor people want to eat but they cannot afford to buy. In addtion, lots of farmers are adding the chemical substances into seeds to grow them quickly but this can be harmful for human body to eat chemical grown vegetables. Thus, many people are avoding to eat this kind of items. Also, in some countries natural disaster can take a place and harm the crops, in these situations many people remain in the hunger. These are the cased which happeneds the most in these situations.

Secondly, there are plenty of solutions available to solve these problems. Government needs to provide some discount benfits for those who cannot afford the agriculture products and they should give free food in emergency situations (tsunami, earthquick) to survive. Moreover, government should provide needed amenities and machinery in discounts to farmers for cost cutting, because it can reduce the selling prices and affordable for all the public. Thirdy, farmer should avoid using chemicals for health purpose, this can also be a reason to reduce the cost as chemicals are sells at very high prices. These are the solutions, which can help to solve this situation.

In conclusion, I believe hunger is still happening because of human themselves. As we can most of the causes affected by people and in rare case, natural disasters takes the place. To solve the hunger cases, I think government should encourage farmers not to use harmful products and government should provide benfits to people who actually are suffering from hunger.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions and maintain a clear overall view: you identify affordability, chemical use and natural disasters as causes, then suggest government support, emergency food provision and lower-cost farming inputs. These are relevant responses to the task. However, some explanations are less fully developed than others. For example, the link between advanced machinery and higher food prices is asserted but not explained in detail, and the claim that people avoid chemically grown vegetables does not clearly explain widespread hunger. The solutions are also presented as a list rather than being supported with examples or explanation of how they would reach hungry communities. Develop each main cause and solution with a clear chain of reasoning and a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for causes and solutions, and a conclusion. This gives the reader an overall route through the answer, and signposts such as “Initially,” “Secondly” and “In conclusion” make the main sections easy to identify. Within paragraphs, however, progression is sometimes mechanical or unclear. The causes paragraph moves from prices to chemicals and then disasters without showing how these points relate, while “These are the cased which happeneds the most” does not clearly refer back to a specific idea. Some linking phrases, including “On the other side,” are not used naturally. Group related points and use clearer referencing and transitions to show the relationship between each cause and its proposed solution.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “natural disaster,” “machinery,” “chemical substances,” “afford” and “emergency situations,” so the reader can follow the main subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning less clear. Examples include “organic liquids to pour in farms,” “pubic” for “public,” “discount benfits,” and “earthquick.” There are also repeated general terms such as “problems,” “situations” and “people,” which reduce precision. Build a more accurate set of phrases for food insecurity, agricultural costs and public assistance, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish food prices, access to food and crop losses.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a cause-and-effect structure in “because of the higher rates many people… are not willing to buy” and a conditional idea about disasters. The overall meaning is usually understandable, but some sentence structures and grammatical forms are inaccurate. For instance, “several advancement has been implemented” has problems with plural agreement and verb form, and “people around the world facing” is missing a finite verb. Other examples include “natural disaster can take a place” and “the causes affected by people,” where the sentence patterns are not controlled. Review subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete clause construction, then proofread each sentence. Greater accuracy in these areas would make your reasoning easier to follow.
