Student answer (Band 6.0)

Despite of using modern equipment in growing crops, number of individuals across the globe is starving. This is because of the lack of transportation facilities, strict laws of the country and excessive use of pesticides in cultivating foods.

The main issue for this case is due to lack of transportation services. Many countries in the world are still in developing phase or underdeveloped so the agricultural products grown in the particular country cannot export their goods as it requires a lot of capital to maintain the temperature while supplying to avoid foods getting damaged. Similarly, due to various countries strict rules and regulations, poor countries couldn't fulfill the requirement like branding, high taxes, and tarrifs. For example, The US is imposing tarrifs on many things which is impacting globally in exporting and the rise of price in petroleum products. This will impact the export of foods as the needs and wants of people from various nations cannot be fulfilled. Additionally, excessive use of fertilizer and pesticides in agriculture gradually decreasing the power of land to grow crops. As result, despite of advancement, the quantity of foods produced is decreasing over the time.

To overcome with this situation, one nation should help another nation in order to solve this issue. Like importing some goods from one nation while exporting other goods which can help to reduce the transportation cost for developing or underdeveloped nations. Nation should made little flexible laws in order to support agriculture. Similarly, awareness program should be conducted to make farmers aware of impacts of excessive use of fertilizers.

To conclude, every nation should work together to address this issue and promote sustainable farming while providing good market and price for their products.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions and maintain a relevant focus on why hunger persists and what could help. The causes you identify—transport difficulties, trade restrictions and declining soil productivity—are pertinent, and the example of US tariffs gives one point some support. Your proposed cooperation between nations and farmer education also respond to the task. However, some explanations are less fully developed: the link between tariffs, petroleum prices and food exports is not made entirely clear, and the claim that pesticide use is reducing crop output would benefit from a more precise explanation or example. Develop each cause and solution with clearer cause-and-effect reasoning to make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph explaining causes, a paragraph proposing solutions, and a conclusion. Ideas generally progress logically, and linking expressions such as “Similarly,” “Additionally,” and “To conclude” help guide the reader. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some movement towards more flexible cohesion. At times, however, links feel mechanical, and references are not always precise—for example, “This will impact the export of foods” leaves the exact connection to the preceding points unclear. The opening sentence of the causes paragraph also repeats the idea of the main issue before explaining it. Use more precise transitions and make each paragraph’s internal sequence explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “transportation facilities,” “agricultural products,” “tariffs,” “fertilizers,” and “sustainable farming.” These choices make the subject clear, and some less common terms are attempted. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “in developing phase,” “export their goods,” “foods getting damaged,” and “power of land to grow crops.” Spelling errors in “tarrifs” also reduce accuracy. These issues do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, but they limit precision and naturalness. Build a bank of common agriculture and trade collocations, and check spelling and word forms during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “as,” “while,” and “in order to,” and your meaning is generally understandable. Some grammatical errors remain, however. Examples include “Despite of using,” “number of individuals,” “countries strict rules,” “As result,” and “Nation should made,” which show problems with prepositions, articles, possessives and verb forms. In “excessive use … gradually decreasing,” the sentence also needs a correctly formed verb phrase. These errors rarely prevent comprehension, but they recur across the response. Practise checking articles and verb forms, and revise complex sentences to ensure each clause has a clear, correctly formed subject and verb.
