Student answer (Band 5.5)

The agriculture in the world has been change over the years with the new technologys and making sure many people around the world can acess different and complex foods. However, part of the population can't acess all this food and many of them still starving around.

When we ask ourselves, why it still happening? What we should do to resolve this puzzle? We find ourselfs quetioning why so many in our society are so rich in comparison with so many poor. Basically, it is happening because the food chain is not fair. It all started in the distribution of the food and money in our society.

The distribution of the food prioritize the developed countries and focus in get more profits on top of it. For this reason some areas are difficult to be deliveried the food and materials, making them more expensive and less accessible to the poor families. For exemple, Africa has been suffer from exploration of the first world contries for many years. For that reason people receive very less money, and with very high inflation, the food gets too expessive for them. To minimize this problem the salary should get higher and the exploration to be done from the earth, to make sure people can get enough sources to survive.

In the other hand, some small group of people are getting benefits of the chain, also getting too rich and investing in their own interesting, instead of reensure that all people of the world get enough food to be live their lifes.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions by identifying unequal food distribution and profit-focused priorities as causes, then suggesting higher wages and changes to resource extraction. The example of African countries experiencing exploitation and inflation helps illustrate the economic barriers you describe. However, the response only partially develops the task: the causes are presented broadly, and the proposed solutions are not clearly explained or linked to how they would improve access to food. The final paragraph introduces wealthy groups’ self-interest but does not develop a practical response to it. To strengthen the answer, explain specific mechanisms—for example, how conflict, poverty, or weak transport systems restrict access, and how targeted food aid or investment in local farming could address them.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a discussion of causes, and a paragraph that begins to consider the role of wealthy groups. Connectors such as “However,” “For this reason,” and “In the other hand” show an effort to guide the reader. Nevertheless, progression is uneven: the final paragraph is brief and does not complete the discussion of solutions, while the earlier paragraph combines causes, an example, and a proposed remedy. Some links are also unclear, such as the move from food distribution to wages and resource extraction. Organise the response into distinct paragraphs for causes and solutions, and use clear references to show how each proposed action responds to a stated cause.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “distribution,” “developed countries,” “profits,” “inflation,” and “accessible,” which helps communicate the central issue. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand, such as “acess,” “expessive,” “exploration,” and “reensure.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, including “complex foods,” “the food chain is not fair,” and “getting benefits of the chain.” Aim for accurate collocations and more precise terms: for instance, distinguish exploitation of resources from exploration, and describe unequal access to food rather than an unfair food chain. Proofreading spelling and choosing standard academic phrases would improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and attempts at longer structures, including “For this reason some areas are difficult…” and the sentence beginning “When we ask ourselves…”. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction, sometimes making the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “has been change,” “why it still happening,” “Africa has been suffer,” and “the distribution … prioritize.” The opening questions are fragments rather than complete sentences, and “some areas are difficult to be deliveried the food” has an unclear grammatical structure. Practise forming complete clauses and checking subject–verb agreement and verb patterns; for example, write “food is difficult to deliver to some areas.”
