Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions: population growth, unequal access to food, urbanisation and rising prices are offered as causes, while government price controls and rooftop growing are proposed as responses. The central position—that agricultural progress has not ensured access to affordable food—is clear. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that agricultural advances cannot meet growing demand needs a clearer link to hunger, and the reference to research about deaths from malnutrition is not supported with a specific example or explanation. The solutions are relevant, but their likely impact and practical details are only briefly developed. To strengthen the response, explain how each cause contributes to hunger and show how the proposed measures would improve access to food.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions and a conclusion. This gives the reader a general route through the answer. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and linking phrases are repetitive or awkward. For instance, “On the other hand” is used to introduce related points about inequality and urbanisation, rather than a clear contrast, while “Even the advances occur in agriculture” repeats an idea without advancing the explanation. Some references, such as “this problem” and “them,” could be more precise. Grouping the causes into a clearer sequence and using links that show cause, contrast or result accurately would make the argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “population growth,” “malnutrition,” “urbanization,” “food production” and “affordable price range.” These choices help communicate the main subject. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or unnatural expressions make parts of the response difficult to interpret, such as “stay in hungry,” “prestigeous people,” “bare lands” and “sailers.” Spelling errors, including “probles” and “unbanization,” also reduce precision. Some phrases repeat, particularly references to advances in agriculture and food prices. Build a more accurate set of collocations for hunger, food supply and government action, and check spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional-style proposal and clauses beginning with “While” and “Even.” However, errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction are frequent enough to affect clarity. Examples include “the demand for the food is also increase,” “it is not enough for overcome,” and “The government need to be involve.” There are also problems with plural and article use, as in “a little amount of expensive food.” Practise forming accurate subject–verb combinations and verb patterns, such as “need to be involved” and “enough to meet demand.” Shorter, carefully checked sentences would help you express your ideas more reliably while you develop complex structures.
