Student answer (Band 6.0)

Despite of making progression in agriculture sector, if we look at all over the world many people still remaining hungry. While destroying cultivation field can be major cause for this, it can be solved by taking proper measures by government and policy makers around the world.

Cultivation field are destroying by building industries and its harmful debris effect. It deeply destroying the eco system, food cycle also losing the soils ability to provide nutrients so that crops can grow. As spaces are becoming limited for doing agriculture, limited supply of foods or importing foods leading to bearing more expesne for buying foods. Therefore, not all people can afford to buy foods and remain in hunger. For example, in Bangladesh every year rice is imported by the government because country's supply isn't enough to cover the need of the total population. The surprising fact is Bangladesh is an agriculture based country still they need to import foods from other countries because many paddy fields are now undertaken by mills, industries etc. So, some people go from door to door for begging foods as they can't afford it and most of the day they spend by remaining in hunger.

By taking effective measures this problem can be solved. Firstly governement should enforce law by which they will direct industries in which restricted areas they can do their production. Cultivation fields that are abandoned right now, agriculture department should look into it and take proper measure for making this fields appropriate for growing crops. Moreover, international organization for instance UNDP can create databses for identifying which regions people are suffering more from hunger and make polices for supplying foods to them. In addition for future solution they can find scope so that those regions or countries can again do cultivation and keep the food supply chain running.

In conclusion, adavnces in the agriculture sector still can't solve the hunger problem all over the world because of destruction of necessary cultivation fields. However government and international organizations joint efforts can reverse this problem by taking effective meausres to supply foods and initiating long term plan for improving abandoned field for cultivation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both questions: you identify the loss of farmland to industry as a cause and propose government regulation, restoring abandoned fields, and targeted food support. The Bangladesh example gives the explanation a relevant, concrete illustration. Your position—that coordinated action can reduce hunger—is clear in the introduction and conclusion. This meets the task well overall, but some points are more fully developed than others. The causes focus almost entirely on farmland loss, while the proposed international database and food distribution are mentioned without explaining how they would reach people or address affordability. To strengthen the response, develop a broader or more precise explanation of why agricultural advances do not ensure access to food, and extend each solution with a clear account of its likely effect.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining a cause, a paragraph proposing solutions, and a conclusion. Sequencing is generally easy to follow, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” help show the direction of the argument. The Bangladesh example is placed appropriately within the cause paragraph. However, some links between ideas are mechanical or unclear. For instance, “As spaces are becoming limited… limited supply of foods or importing foods leading to bearing more expense” compresses several steps in the reasoning, and “this problem” can refer broadly to hunger rather than a specific issue. Use clearer sentence-to-sentence links and make cause-and-effect relationships explicit. This would make the progression more consistently smooth and cohesive.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “cultivation fields,” “nutrients,” “food supply chain,” and “international organization,” and you attempt some less common expressions such as “enforce law” and “long term plan.” These choices show an adequate range for discussing the issue, but inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “making progression,” “harmful debris effect,” “bearing more expesne,” and “databses.” Repetition of “foods” and “cultivation fields” also limits flexibility. Aim to learn common word partnerships and check spelling and word forms carefully; for example, use “agricultural progress,” “industrial waste,” and “food imports.” More precise vocabulary would make your explanations clearer and more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including conditional and subordinate structures, as in “because they can’t afford it” and “so that crops can grow.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, and the response is organised into complete paragraphs. However, some errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and verb forms reduce accuracy. For example, “Cultivation field are destroying” has a subject–verb and passive-form problem, while “The surprising fact is Bangladesh is…” needs a clearer clause structure. In “government and international organizations joint efforts,” the possessive or linking structure is missing. Review agreement, articles, and passive constructions, and proofread each sentence for a complete, correctly connected clause. Greater control of these patterns would make the complex ideas easier to follow.
