Student answer (Band 6.0)
some argue that a number of people in the world remain starving even though there are many technicle development made in agriculture. This is mainly because people cannot afford the new technologies. The solution would be government intervention.
Technological development of agriculture indicate that a complete crop feild can be grown without human intervention. However, price of the machine requied and techonology is far more expensive. For example, In the USA, there are corn fields completely cultivated using machines. Therefore, the production is in massive scale. In Sri Lanka, this is done completly manually. because of that, the production of corn is very low. The supply is not nearly enough compared to the demand. Same goes for the other foods as well. Even though the world have advanced agricultural equipment, most of the people cannot afford it.
Government intervention is one of the best solutions for problems in the agriculture regarding the funds. Tax relaxations and government loans with low interest rates for crop cultivation, could led a farmer to afford essential techonologies and equipment. For instance, with the government support, if a farmer build a fully automated system for harvesting paddy fields, the yeild will be rather high compared to the manual labour. If this happens in large scale, there will be abundand of food in a country. Therefore, with the help of the government, technological advancements could use to be a shelter for starving people in a country.
In conclusion. Even though agriculure has advanced technological side, a number of people still starving because most of the people cannot afford it. However, with government involvment, tax relaxations and government loans with lower interest rates could solve the problem.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both questions and maintain a clear central explanation: farmers in poorer settings may be unable to afford modern agricultural equipment, while government support could help them obtain it. The USA–Sri Lanka comparison and the example of support for paddy harvesting make the response relevant. However, the explanation of why people remain hungry is narrower than the task invites: it focuses on the cost of technology and low production, without exploring other possible causes such as distribution, conflict, poverty, or food waste. The proposed solution is also developed mainly through loans and tax relief, and the link from increased production to reducing hunger is asserted rather than fully explained. Extending these points with clearer cause-and-effect reasoning would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining the cause, a paragraph proposing a solution, and a conclusion. Ideas generally progress in a logical order, and signposts such as “For example,” “Therefore,” and “In conclusion” help the reader follow the argument. This meets the lower-band expectations securely and shows some stronger control through purposeful paragraphing and a consistent focus. However, several links feel mechanical or repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “Therefore” and “Even though.” The reference in “Even though the world have advanced agricultural equipment” is also not fully clear, and the conclusion repeats the introduction rather than synthesising the argument. Use a wider range of linking methods and make relationships between claims more explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “agriculture,” “government loans,” “low interest rates,” “automated system,” and “manual labour.” Some choices show an attempt to be specific, such as “crop cultivation” and “harvesting paddy fields.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word forms are noticeable, including “technicle,” “feild,” “requied,” “techonology,” “yeild,” and “abundand.” There are also awkward or imprecise combinations, such as “production is in massive scale” and “a shelter for starving people.” These do not prevent the overall message from being understood, but they limit precision and naturalness. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for describing agricultural output and food insecurity.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if a farmer build a fully automated system … the yeild will be rather high” and a concession in “Even though the world have advanced agricultural equipment.” The overall meaning remains understandable, and the response is organised into complete sentences. However, some errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and punctuation reduce accuracy. For example, “the world have advanced” should use a singular verb, while “could led a farmer” has an incorrect verb form after “could.” The opening sentence also has an incomplete construction (“a number of people … remain starving”), and “In conclusion.” is incorrectly punctuated as a sentence fragment. Review subject–verb agreement, modal verb patterns, and sentence boundaries, while retaining your attempts at complex structures.
