Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is a huge improvement in the agricultural field among past few decades. But lots of people around the world still live hungry and malnutrition. Several reasons behind this scenario and there are many ways to overcome this problem.
Although, there is a huge advancement in agriculture, more people around the world remain hungry. There are many reasons cause for this. One of the main reasons is, the unequal destribution of food products and economic status. While some countries produce more than enough food for their community, others could not produce enough food for their citizens. Sometimes people can not afford their basic food items, even they are present in the local markets. On the other hand, some countries affected with natural disasters such as floods and draughts. It negatively affects for food production and it destroy the food farms as well. Furthermore, political instability and the civil wars largly contribute to the food wastage. As an example, during African wars, the farmers asked not to involve farming activities. If they involved farming, the protestors destroyed their lands. Also, civil wars caused difficulties to reach food destribution teams to vulnarable population.
Several steps can be taken to overcome this problem. The government can involve this with international organizations. They can destribute advance seeds to farmers and give skills related to newly introduced technology regarding the agriculture. And also, they can provide lands for farming activities with a favourable price. Moreover, by providing financial support for the poor families can reduce malnutrition upto some extent. Furthermore, while natural disasters , government can develop water supplies to farming areas. Together with non government organizations, government can set rules to reduce food wastage and can maintain a food stock that can be used in difficult surcumstances such as civil wars and natural disasters.
In conclution, there are many reasons to increase malnutrition among people such as, unequal distribution of food, natural disasters, and political conflicts. Together with government and other international organizatyions can contribute their attention to reduce these problems. By setting rules, providing equality while food distribution, maintaining a food stock, and educating farmers can minimize the hunger among people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address both questions: you explain causes such as unequal access to food, poverty, disasters and conflict, then suggest government support, improved farming skills, financial assistance and food stocks. These are relevant and your conclusion restates the main points. The response also shows some development, for example explaining how conflict can prevent farmers from working and obstruct food deliveries. However, several proposals are listed rather than explained in detail, and the example of African wars is broad and not clearly tied to a specific case. The link between agricultural advances and persistent hunger could also be made more explicit. More precise examples and fuller explanation of how each solution would work would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure, moving from an introduction to causes, solutions and a conclusion. Paragraphing helps distinguish the two main parts of the task, and signposts such as “Furthermore,” “Moreover” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. This gives the response a coherent arrangement. At times, however, the linking is mechanical, with several ideas introduced through repeated additive transitions. Some references are also unclear: “They” in the solutions paragraph could refer to the government or international organizations, and “this” in “The government can involve this” has no clear antecedent. Grouping related points and using more precise references would make cohesion smoother and more flexible.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “unequal distribution,” “political instability,” “vulnerable population” and “financial support,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There is some range beyond basic everyday language, but inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause. Examples include “live hungry and malnutrition,” “food destribution,” “draughts” and “surcumstances”; the intended meanings are generally recoverable, but the forms are not reliable. Phrases such as “provide lands … with a favourable price” and “reduce malnutrition upto some extent” are also unnatural. Build accuracy by learning common topic collocations and checking spelling and word forms, rather than relying on approximate expressions.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses beginning with “While,” “Although” and “such as,” and most of the argument remains understandable. However, errors in sentence construction and grammatical patterns recur. For example, “Several reasons behind this scenario” is a fragment, while “There are many reasons cause for this” combines incompatible structures. In “It negatively affects for food production and it destroy the food farms,” the verb pattern, agreement and coordination need correction. Articles and prepositions are also inconsistent, as in “during natural disasters” and “provide lands for farming activities with a favourable price.” Practise building complete clauses and checking subject–verb agreement, articles and prepositions; greater accuracy across these structures would improve control.
