Student answer (Band 6.0)

The advancement in agricultural sector was supposed to provide solution to mitigate the huunger issue around the world; thereby planning was failed to do so. In my perspective, the major issue is the surge in the population along with the flaws in policy making by the govenrments.

People in many countries still go hungry because of an increase in the population of the world and the production rate fails to meet the demand of the public. In addition to that, polution is causing a detrimental effect to the climate change; thereby causing increase in natural disasters, which damage the production of the crops and grains. Another cause is the lack of agricultural education among farmers; thereby using fertilizers that affects the plantation. The accumulation of food is common among the wealthy people this causes shortage in the market results in high-rise prices of the products and the underprevilidge people are unable to buy. Wastage of food is another reason why hunger is becoming an issue even after the advancement in the technology.

To mitigate this issue, policy makers ought to impose stringent regulation on accumulation and wastage of food. This can be done by imposing heavy fines on restaurants and by charging for leftover food from the costumers. Governments should allocate funds for the agriculture sector along with taking initiatives to arrange free programs on agriculture education. By imposing fine on smoke-emitting factories and vehicles provides a viable solution to mitigate climate change. Advancment in weather forecasting will also benefit farmers to helps in planting as thet were well aware of rainy season before the disasters.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You address both questions and maintain a clear focus on hunger. The causes are relevant and varied: population growth, climate-related crop damage, limited agricultural education, food accumulation, and waste. You also propose responses, including regulation, agricultural funding, education, and improved weather forecasting. This breadth, together with a clear overall position, is a strength. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for example, the link between pollution and disasters, and how charging restaurants for leftovers would reduce hunger, need clearer reasoning or a concrete example. The weather-forecasting proposal is also difficult to follow in its current form. Developing these connections and supporting key claims would make the response more consistently convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph explaining causes, and a paragraph proposing solutions. Ideas generally progress in a sensible order, and linking phrases such as “In addition to that” and “Another cause” help signal new points. However, the repeated use of “thereby” and “another” makes some connections feel mechanical, while several sentences combine multiple claims without showing their relationship clearly. For instance, the sentence about food accumulation moves quickly from wealthy people to market shortages and high prices. The final sentence is also hard to follow. Use clearer topic sentences, vary linking devices, and make cause-and-effect relationships explicit to improve progression and cohesion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “agricultural sector,” “natural disasters,” “stringent regulation,” and “weather forecasting.” These choices show an attempt to discuss the issue with some specificity. However, spelling errors and inaccurate or unnatural collocations are noticeable, such as “huunger,” “polution,” “underprevilidge,” and “surge in the population.” Phrases such as “accumulation of food” and “high-rise prices” are also not the most natural choices in context. These errors do not prevent the reader from understanding the main ideas, but they limit precision and fluency. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for food supply, poverty, and agricultural production.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses linked with “because,” “which,” and “as.” The overall meaning is usually understandable, but some grammatical errors recur and occasionally make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “the production rate fails to meet the demand” shifts awkwardly from the past framing in the introduction, and “By imposing fine … provides a viable solution” has a faulty sentence structure. In “weather forecasting will also benefit farmers to helps,” the verb pattern is incorrect. There are also issues with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries in places. Aim for complete, well-formed sentences and check that each clause has a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
