Student answer (Band 5.0)

Many people around the world still go hungry but our technology in agriculture improving day by day. I think that this problem need to undercontrol by finding the main problems. We can be solve the problem by the responses from victim peoples.

This problem was happen due to didn't proper using farmers because urban areas farmer didn't get facilities to improve their product. People around the world didn't utilize their habit of wasting food. It's the biggest problem for the poverty. If the farmer won't get the valuable price of their crops, this problem will suffer all around the world farmers.

I think that Government should take some responsibilities to solve this problem. Like they need to investigate the rural area where human are in a big trouble. Also some NGOs shold help their to leave out from this. They need to fix the proper rate of their crops and some facilities should be given. Improving urban areas transporting system, farmers will easily sell their product in the city and get their real value of their grown food. Government should take some steps about wasting food. Because it is growing day by day. However, every people around the world must utilize their food and don't waste it. If we do that, we will solve this problem easily.

In conclusion, this problem can be solved by providing better scopes to the farmers and take care of these people who faced this problem. If we done this work properly, there will be no poverty in our future generation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both questions: you identify food waste and farmers’ limited access to facilities and fair prices as causes, then suggest government action, NGO support, better transport and reducing waste. These are relevant points, but they are mostly listed rather than explained or supported with a specific example, so the response only partially develops the task. The claim that farmers’ prices cause hunger, for instance, needs a clearer explanation of how this affects food availability or affordability. Your position is present, especially in the proposed solutions, but the opening is difficult to interpret. The response is 247 words, three words below the 250-word minimum; the eight words copied from the prompt are not counted. Develop the causes and solutions with clearer reasoning and an example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the main sections. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear, and several points are joined mechanically with “Also,” “However” and “Because.” For example, “Because it is growing day by day” is left as a fragment, while the connection between food waste and the preceding government measures is not fully explained. References such as “these people” and “this” are also vague. Organise each body paragraph around one main idea, explain it before moving on, and use linking expressions only when they show a precise relationship.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “agriculture,” “farmers,” “crops,” “NGOs,” “transporting system” and “wasting food,” so the reader can generally identify the subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make meaning difficult to follow. Phrases such as “undercontrol by finding the main problems,” “responses from victim peoples” and “leave out from this” do not express the intended ideas clearly. There are also spelling errors, including “shold.” Build a more precise set of phrases for causes and remedies, and check that each expression fits its context—for example, describe farmers as receiving a fair price and people as experiencing food insecurity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the response includes some useful structures, such as “If we do that, we will solve this problem easily.” However, the range is limited, and errors are frequent enough to make several sentences difficult to understand. Examples include “this problem need,” “This problem was happen,” “Government should take some responsibilities,” and “If we done this work properly.” These show problems with subject–verb agreement, verb forms and tense. Some sentence boundaries are also faulty: “Because it is growing day by day” is a fragment, and the opening has run-together punctuation. Practise accurate basic clauses first, then add subordinate clauses while checking verb forms, agreement and sentence punctuation.
