Student answer (Band 5.5)
There are many advancements in agriculture day by day, but many people have no food to eat.
Nowadays, as the technology advances it becomes more conveninent for farmers to grow crops easily, they can check the weather daily and protect their crops from pests. People who run factories they buy raw materials from farmers in a cheap price and then store them so that they can sell them to people when their is a shortage and people will definitely but them at high price. For instance, factories buy potatoes, rice from farmers. As a result, many people can't afford the basic necessities when they are expensive.
The solution to this problem is that government should impose some laws regarding this and check prices in the market if any shopkeeper is selling at a price which is higher than others then he should be fined. Moreover government should fund farmers so that they can use technology and grow more crops because many farmers are still using the traditional equipments. Government should give some discount to poor people so that they can afford food to eat. For example, at the start of season prices should be set and according to those prices shopkeeper will sell the raw materials to people. Sellers can't change the prices according to their own choice.
In my opinion, Government should take serious action against this issue so that people will have food to eat and support the farmers who cannot afford to use latest technology in growing their crops.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both questions: you suggest that food can become unaffordable when businesses store produce and sell it at higher prices, and you propose price controls, support for farmers, and discounts for poorer households. These are relevant ideas, and the examples of potatoes and rice help make the explanation concrete. However, the causes are only partly explored: the response focuses mainly on prices and storage, without explaining other reasons people may remain hungry despite agricultural advances, such as unequal distribution or poverty. Some solutions also need clearer development—for example, explain how price limits would be set and enforced. A more fully developed account of the causes and a clearer link between each solution and hunger would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, moving from the problem and its causes to solutions and a concluding opinion. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and connectors such as “As a result,” “Moreover,” and “For example” show relationships between ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the discussion shifts from farmers’ technology to factories storing produce, then to affordability, without fully explaining the links. The solutions paragraph also combines price regulation, farmer funding, and discounts in a long sequence. Some connections are mechanical, and “this” in the conclusion refers broadly to several points. Group related ideas and use clearer explanations of cause and effect to make the argument easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main points, including “agriculture,” “raw materials,” “shortage,” “traditional equipment,” and “latest technology.” These terms help keep the response relevant to food production and access. However, the range is limited and some wording is imprecise or repetitive, particularly repeated references to “people,” “prices,” and “food to eat.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as “conveninent,” “but them,” and “in a cheap price,” which reduce accuracy and naturalness. Aim for more precise expressions for food insecurity and affordability, and check spelling and common collocations. This would make the argument clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses with “because,” “so that,” and “if,” which allows you to express reasons and proposals. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some passages less clear. For example, “People who run factories they buy” has an unnecessary repeated subject, while “when their is a shortage” has an incorrect form and agreement. There are also problems with articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries, as in “government should impose some laws” and the comma splice in “as the technology advances it becomes more convenient…, they can check.” Practise building one complete clause at a time, then check subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation.
