Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions by identifying poverty, unequal distribution and weather-related crop losses as causes, then suggesting food aid, storage, subsidised tools and better forecasting. These are relevant ideas, but they are mostly listed rather than explained: for instance, the proposal to distribute food more equally does not say how governments could achieve this, and the example about a 2017 survey is not clearly sourced or connected to a specific place. The conclusion restates the main points, but its final sentence is incomplete, which weakens the overall response. The required minimum of 250 words is not met; the response is 244 words. Develop each main point with a clear explanation or a specific, credible example, and complete the conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “secondly,” “Furthermore” and “However” help signal the stages of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is often mechanical, with several points joined by “also” or “Moreover” rather than showing how one idea leads to another. Some links are unclear or inaccurate, such as “while” at the end of the solutions paragraph, and the final sentence stops at “work together for food,” leaving the conclusion unfinished. Improve cohesion by grouping related points, using clear references to earlier ideas, and ensuring every paragraph and sentence is complete.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “poverty,” “surplus,” “food storage,” “subsidies” and “forecast system,” so the reader can follow the main subject. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “play vital role” and “financial hardship.” However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling and word-form errors make the writing less clear or natural: “food ia not distributed equally,” “develope,” “agricultral tools” and “number of advantages has been made” are examples. Some combinations are also awkward, including “equal food source” and “suffer from the hunger.” Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for food security and agriculture; this will make your ideas more precise and fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including a cause-and-effect structure in “as a result, many families suffer from the hunger.” However, the range is limited, and attempts to connect several clauses often contain frequent grammatical and punctuation errors that can make the reader pause. Examples include “there are several reason,” “many people can't afford food … because of lack of money,” and “government should provide equal food source,” where number, articles or sentence construction need attention. The final sentence is also incomplete. Use a wider mix of accurately controlled sentence patterns, and check subject–verb agreement, articles, plurals and sentence boundaries. Reading each sentence aloud can help you identify missing words and unfinished clauses.
