Student answer (Band 5.5)

The advancemnt in agriculture is very increased to produce more and more agricultural products each year but with that rise the labour work is also decreaing as technology is taking jobs of labours.

the evolution of agriculture is based on different stages with the rise in advancement in technology back in 1900s peole used cows and horses which would takes days to softened the ground and then put seeds in it but with the advancement in automotive industry now people use fast tractors to do that job in hours rather than spending days on it ,however It saved time but it has taken the jobs of many labourer.

On the other hand the seeds and plants were checked by people regulalry to check the moisture of soil and urea level and other insects or pesticides but now with the rise of technology it is checkd remotely on the screen with the help of camera, sensors and actuators you just have to check the screen and you will realised the condition of the farm.

In islamabad there is a company Apnafarm in which they built special system contains cameras, sensors and actuators to help grow agricutural products in a special envioronment and also indoor and it is also cheap as compared to laboure costs, and local farmers preffer it for good profit.

In my opinion the government sholud take some action about it so people especially farmers and labours have the opputunity to work and earn to afford normal lifestyle as the technology is rising so as the inflation rate, a special skiled training should be introduced fom the govenment side so peole can avail the oppurtunity and earn for themselves, also people who earn more should donate something every month to private oraganizations that work for this cause like al-khidmat foundation would also be a good alternative.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both questions by linking hunger to agricultural mechanisation and proposing government training and charitable donations. The Islamabad company example also gives the response a relevant, concrete detail. However, the explanation focuses mainly on technology replacing farm labour, rather than showing clearly how this leads to people going hungry; it does not consider other causes such as poverty, unequal food distribution, conflict or food waste. The proposed training and donations are relevant but are not explained in enough detail to show how they would reduce hunger or reach those most in need. Develop a clearer explanation of the causes and connect each solution directly to the problem.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable sequence: it introduces mechanisation, gives examples of changing farm practices, and then offers solutions. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these stages, and phrases such as “On the other hand” and “In my opinion” signal shifts. However, the progression is not always clear: the discussion of sensors and the company example does not explicitly connect back to why people remain hungry. Some sentences contain several ideas joined by “and” or commas, making relationships harder to follow. Use a clearer paragraph plan—causes, then solutions—and make links between examples and the main argument explicit. More precise referencing and a wider range of linking expressions would also improve flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “agricultural products,” “moisture of soil,” “sensors,” “actuators,” “inflation rate” and “donate.” These terms help communicate the subject and show an attempt to use specific language. However, the range is uneven, and several repeated or inaccurate expressions make parts less clear, such as “labour work,” “rise in advancement” and “good profit.” Spelling errors—including “advancemnt,” “decreaing” and “agricutural”—are noticeable and can distract the reader. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. Using vocabulary about food access, distribution and affordability would also help you explain the causes of hunger more precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “but,” “as” and “so,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, complex sentences are often difficult to control, and frequent errors affect clarity. For example, “the labour work is also decreaing” has an unclear grammatical construction, while “which would takes days” mixes verb forms. In “it is checkd remotely,” the passive form is not correctly formed, and several sentences run together without appropriate full stops. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea at a time, then add subordinate clauses. Check subject–verb agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence boundaries during proofreading.
