Student answer (Band 5.5)

Although, agriculture and technology has improved significantly and modern machines fertilizers and pesticides are being used in large amount for the production of food. However, millions of people are suffering from hunger due to the poverty and unequal food distribution. This essay will discuss the main reason behind the issue and suggest some possible moments.

Commencing with the most salient reason that why many masses cannot afford basic food items for their survival because of poverty and unemployment. Moreover, low salaries make it difficult to buy nutritious meals. However, food may be available in the market but poor famalies unable to pay for it owing to their financial conditions. Apart from this, natural disasters and climate changes are equally considerabled seeing droughts like floods and extreme temprature destroy crops and farmers lose their agricultural production. For instance, last year 2024 india face high rainfall and this problem lead to destruction in agricultural, due to this prices of fruits and vegetables have become quite expensive and poor masses cannot afford that items.

On the other hand, Government can support people who are suffering from poverty by giving them financial assistance and create employment oppertunities for them and make essential food items affordable. Furthermore, it may improve food distribution and devlelop better transportation and storage facilities. Government also provide modern farming equipment to farmers and offer affordable seed and fertilizers which help them for better production. For example, government should provide basic food items to poor families in which they could survive and give seed and fertilizers at low rate to farmers for the agrcultural production.

To conclude, my opinion is that government should provide financial assistance and basic food items to people who cannot afford it. Authorities give modern equipments to farmers and seed at low rate to boost the agricultural production.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions: poverty, unemployment, low salaries, disasters and climate change are offered as causes, while financial assistance, employment, improved distribution and support for farmers are proposed as responses. The India example also helps illustrate how damaged crops can raise food prices. This is relevant coverage, but some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the link between agricultural advances and hunger could be made clearer by distinguishing food availability from people’s ability to access it. The proposed measures would also benefit from explanation of how they would reach the most vulnerable or reduce losses. Develop fewer ideas in more detail and connect each example directly to the point it supports.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph on causes, a paragraph on solutions and a conclusion. This makes the main direction easy to follow. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes weakened by mechanical or inaccurate linking. The causes paragraph begins with “Commencing with” and later uses “However” where the relationship is not a contrast; the solutions paragraph also strings several proposals together without showing which are most important. Some references, such as “that items” and “this problem,” are unclear. Use simpler, more precise transitions and organise each body paragraph around a clear main idea, followed by explanation and an example. This would make the connections between points more natural.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “unequal food distribution,” “financial assistance,” “natural disasters,” and “storage facilities.” These choices show an effort to discuss the issue beyond basic terms. However, inaccurate word choice, collocation and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less natural: “possible moments” does not express proposed solutions, “masses” is unsuitable for people in this context, and “equally considerabled” is not a correct form. There are also misspellings such as “famalies,” “temprature,” and “oppertunities.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations such as “low-income families,” “extreme temperatures,” and “create job opportunities.” Proofreading spelling and word forms would improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “which,” and “although,” and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, errors in agreement, sentence construction, articles and verb forms occur often enough to make some sentences awkward. For example, “agriculture and technology has improved” needs plural agreement, while “poor families unable to pay” is missing a verb. The opening “Although” clause is followed by a separate “However” sentence, leaving the relationship between the clauses faulty. In “Government also provide,” the verb form does not agree with the subject. Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check agreement and punctuation, especially when combining contrasting ideas.
