Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

You have successfully identified the main features of the charts and provided a clear overview. You covered all three nutrients across the four meal categories and made relevant comparisons, such as noting that dinner is the primary source of sodium and saturated fat, while snacks dominate in added sugar. The data is accurately reported, and the response is well-structured. To reach a higher band, ensure that you avoid minor inaccuracies in data reporting; for instance, you mentioned breakfast and snacks were 16% and 21% for saturated fat, but the chart shows 16% and 21% respectively, which is correct, but your phrasing could be more precise to avoid ambiguity.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5

The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, an overview, and a body paragraph. You used cohesive devices such as 'Overall,' 'In contrast,' 'To commence with,' and 'Moreover' to guide the reader. However, the transition 'To commence with, it is noticeable that first of all in sodium' is slightly clunky and repetitive. Improving the flow between sentences by varying your linking phrases would enhance the overall coherence. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow throughout the report.

Lexical Resource — Band 7.0

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly, using terms like 'proportion,' 'contributes,' 'accounts for,' and 'intake.' There is a minor spelling error ('aaded' instead of 'added') and some slightly repetitive phrasing when describing the data points. To improve, try to incorporate more varied verbs and nouns to describe trends and proportions, such as 'constitutes,' 'comprises,' or 'the largest share.' The vocabulary used is appropriate for the task and does not impede communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are some minor grammatical slips, such as 'dinner contributes at 37%' (should be 'contributes 37%') and 'lunch represent at 26%' (should be 'represents 26%'). These errors are frequent enough to prevent a higher score but do not impede communication. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions when reporting data will help you achieve a higher band. Overall, your control of grammar is adequate for this task.
