Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response covers all parts of the task by identifying the main features of the four charts. You successfully highlight the key trends for each meal type and make relevant comparisons, such as noting the high sodium content in dinner compared to other meals. However, the overview is slightly weak; while you mention the nutrients in the conclusion, a more effective overview would be placed after the introduction to summarize the most significant trends across all categories. The data is generally accurate, though the phrasing 'mostly people consumed nutrient' is slightly imprecise. Overall, the response provides a clear and relevant summary of the provided data.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The response is logically organized, with each paragraph focusing on a specific meal time. This makes the information easy to follow. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'whereas', 'on the other hand', and 'lastly', to link ideas. However, the transition between the introduction and the body paragraphs is a bit abrupt. Additionally, some sentences are slightly repetitive in structure. To improve, try to vary your linking phrases and ensure that the progression of ideas flows more naturally between sentences. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different meal categories.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'overconsumed', 'nutrients', and 'respectively'. However, there are some instances of awkward word choice, such as 'gobbled', which is too informal for an Academic Task 1 report. The phrase 'mostly people consumed nutrient' is also grammatically and lexically clunky. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and avoiding informal or colloquial expressions. Spelling is generally accurate throughout the text, and the vocabulary used is sufficient to convey the intended meaning clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as 'mostly people consumed nutrient' (should be 'most people consumed nutrients') and 'the most amount of nutrition intake' (should be 'the highest intake of nutrients'). There are also issues with article usage and subject-verb agreement. While these errors do not impede communication, they occur frequently enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and refining sentence structure will help improve your accuracy.
