Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all parts of the task by identifying the three nutrients and their distribution across four meal types. However, the reporting of data is inconsistent and contains inaccuracies. For example, you state that sodium in dinner is 43%, which is correct, but then you repeat this figure for saturated fat in dinner, whereas the chart shows 37%. Additionally, the summary at the end is inaccurate, as it claims the lowest usage of all three nutrients is in snacks, breakfast, and lunch, which contradicts the data for added sugars where snacks are the highest. The overview is present but lacks precision.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or repetitive, such as the frequent use of 'used' or 'added'. The progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing, such as 'Looking further chart some percent add sugar'. While there is an attempt at logical sequencing, the transitions between sentences are often abrupt, and the referencing of data points is not always clear, making the flow of information feel somewhat disjointed.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The range of vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You rely heavily on basic verbs like 'used' and 'add', which are often used incorrectly in context (e.g., 'sodium used of 14%'). There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'the norm percentages' and 'eating items'. To improve, you should focus on using more precise reporting verbs and nouns related to data, such as 'account for', 'constitute', or 'proportion'. The current vocabulary is just adequate to convey the basic meaning but lacks the flexibility required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response relies on a limited range of sentence structures, mostly simple sentences with repetitive patterns. There are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement and preposition usage (e.g., 'sodium used of 14%', 'dinner used by 43%'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, and some sentences are fragmented or lack a clear subject. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents the response from reaching a higher band. You should focus on mastering basic sentence patterns before attempting more complex structures.
