Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response attempts to summarize the data, but it struggles with accuracy and clarity. While you identify the three nutrients and the meal types, the description of the data is often confusing or factually inconsistent with the charts provided. For instance, you describe trends as 'surging' or 'decreasing' over a period, but the charts are static snapshots, not time-series data. This indicates a misunderstanding of the task requirements. Furthermore, some figures are misquoted or unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison. To improve, focus on accurately reporting the static percentages shown in the charts rather than inventing temporal trends.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or misused, such as 'However, lunch feast was dropped out by the end of the period,' which does not logically connect to the previous sentence. Referencing is also problematic, as it is often unclear what 'others' refers to in your comparisons. The flow between sentences is frequently interrupted by grammatical errors, which hinders the overall readability of the report. Using a wider variety of linking words more naturally would help improve the coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
Your vocabulary is quite limited and often inappropriate for an academic report. Words like 'devoured', 'feast', and 'rosily' are unsuitable for a formal data summary. There are also frequent word-choice errors, such as 'sustenance meals' and 'signicantly deceased' (instead of decreased). You rely on a narrow range of descriptive terms, and the misuse of words often obscures the intended meaning. To reach a higher band, you should focus on using precise, neutral language to describe data, such as 'proportion', 'account for', 'constitute', and 'the highest/lowest figure'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'others was went down'), incorrect verb tenses, and awkward sentence structures (e.g., 'the more highest one nutrient'). The attempt to use complex sentences is largely unsuccessful due to these persistent errors. Punctuation is also inconsistent. To improve, you need to focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that you are using the correct verb forms. Reducing the number of complex structures until you have mastered basic accuracy will help improve your score.
