Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response covers the main features of the charts, but the accuracy of the data reporting is inconsistent. For instance, you state that dinner has the lowest figures, yet the chart shows dinner is the highest for sodium (43%). Additionally, the description of the data is sometimes confusing, such as claiming breakfast has the 'highest numbers of ratio' when the charts show varied results. To improve, ensure you carefully cross-reference the labels with the percentages. While you have identified the main trends, the misinterpretation of the data significantly impacts the clarity and accuracy of your summary.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'On the other hand' to transition between ideas. However, the logical progression within the paragraphs is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing and inaccurate data reporting. For example, the transition 'remains balance the breakfast' is unclear and does not effectively link the ideas. To reach a higher band, focus on using cohesive devices that more naturally connect your comparisons and ensure that each sentence logically follows the previous one.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but there are several instances of unnatural word choice and collocation errors. Phrases like 'highest numbers of ratio', 'lowest figures of presentation', and 'remains same the values' are not standard English and impede the precision of your writing. You also use 'famous' to describe data, which is inappropriate in an academic context. To improve, focus on learning collocations related to data description, such as 'account for', 'constitute', or 'the highest proportion'. Expanding your range of reporting verbs and nouns will help you convey information more accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally make the meaning difficult to follow. Issues include incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'the dinner was held the 43%'), missing articles, and awkward sentence construction (e.g., 'mostly peoples consumed'). Subject-verb agreement and preposition usage are also inconsistent. While the errors do not completely prevent communication, they are frequent enough to distract the reader. Focusing on basic sentence structure and ensuring correct subject-verb agreement will help improve your accuracy.
