Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5

The response successfully addresses the task by identifying the main features of the charts. You have provided a clear overview and supported your points with relevant data from the charts. The comparison between the three nutrients is clear, and you have highlighted the key trends, such as the high consumption of sodium and saturated fat at dinner versus the high sugar content in snacks. To reach a higher band, ensure that you avoid minor inaccuracies in data reporting; for instance, you stated that 23% of added sugar is the 'least' in dinner, but the data shows 19% for lunch and 16% for breakfast, making dinner actually the second-highest category for sugar.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5

The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, an overview, and two body paragraphs. The progression of ideas is easy to follow. You use some cohesive devices such as 'Overall', 'However', 'Furthermore', and 'Finally' to link your ideas. However, the use of these devices is sometimes a bit mechanical. To improve, try to vary your linking phrases and ensure that the transition between sentences is smoother. The paragraphing is appropriate, and each paragraph has a clear central focus, which helps the reader navigate the information effectively.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly, including terms like 'nutrients', 'excessive', 'consumption', and 'proportion'. There are some minor errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'Pi Charts' (should be 'pie charts'), 'Lunck' (spelling error), and 'Furthurmore' (spelling error). Additionally, some phrasing is slightly unnatural, such as 'eaten up in the Breakfast'. To achieve a higher score, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensure accurate spelling of key terms. The range is adequate for the task but lacks the sophistication required for higher bands.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical errors, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('The following Pi Charts illustrates' should be 'illustrate') and article usage ('at the dinner time' should be 'at dinner'). Some sentences are slightly awkward, such as 'These all nutrients can be unhealthy in excessive amount'. You have enough control to communicate your points, but the frequency of these minor errors prevents a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and article usage will significantly improve your accuracy.
