Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response covers all three charts and identifies the main features, such as the highest and lowest values for each nutrient. However, the analysis is somewhat mechanical and lacks a clear overview that synthesizes the data effectively. While the key trends are mentioned, the comparison between the nutrients could be more sophisticated. For instance, the report would benefit from grouping the data more logically to highlight the differences between the three nutrients rather than describing each pie chart in isolation. The summary provided at the end is a good attempt at an overview, but it should ideally be placed after the introduction to better frame the report.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often repetitive or slightly unnatural, such as 'To bein with' (typo) and 'In addition to, USA people medium use'. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the transitions between sentences feel somewhat disjointed. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect the data points more fluidly. Paragraphing is present, but the final summary paragraph is quite brief and could be better integrated into the overall structure.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. There are several instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'USA people medium use of salt' and 'the place is replace by the snacks'. The student relies on basic verbs like 'use', 'utilize', and 'show', which limits the sophistication of the report. There are also minor spelling errors, such as 'bein' instead of 'begin' and 'chat' instead of 'chart'. To reach a higher band, the student should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary related to data description, such as 'account for', 'constitute', or 'predominate'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'according to first pie chart indicates' (missing subject/article), 'saturated fat utilize by USA' (incorrect verb form), and 'the place is replace' (incorrect tense/passive voice). Punctuation is generally acceptable, but the sentence construction often feels clunky due to missing articles or incorrect word order. While the meaning is usually clear, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from achieving a higher score. More attention to subject-verb agreement and article usage is needed.
