Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers all parts of the task by identifying the main trends across the four meal types. You successfully highlight the key features, such as the high consumption of sodium and saturated fat at dinner and the dominance of sugar in snacks. However, the analysis is slightly hampered by inaccurate data reporting; for instance, you state dinner saturated fat is '#&%', which is a clear error, and your description of the lunch percentages is imprecise. To reach a higher band, ensure that all data points are transcribed accurately from the charts and that comparisons are more clearly articulated rather than just listing figures.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, moving from an overview to specific meal categories. You use some cohesive devices like 'Overall', 'Categorizing trends', and 'The last but not least', which help the flow. However, the progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and the referencing is occasionally unclear. For example, the transition between the snack and dinner sections feels abrupt. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the logical flow and cohesion of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the main points, using terms like 'proportions', 'consumption', and 'nutrients'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'bear amount of difference' (likely meaning 'bare' or 'small') and 'trends are bit differnt then other meals'. Spelling errors like 'differnt' and the inclusion of non-alphabetic characters ('#&%') detract from the professional tone. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and proofreading for spelling and typographical errors to ensure your vocabulary is used accurately and effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use comparative structures, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'The given charts illustrates' (subject-verb agreement), 'Sodium was2 percent' (missing space), and 'was was' (repetition). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly regarding commas and spacing. These errors do not generally impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and consistent sentence construction will help improve your grammatical accuracy.
