Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

You have successfully identified the main features of the charts and provided relevant comparisons. You covered all three nutrients and all four meal categories. The overview is clear and highlights the key trends effectively. To reach a higher band, ensure that all data points are accurate; for instance, you mentioned dinner sodium at 43% and lunch at 29%, which is correct, but ensure your comparisons are consistently precise. The response is well-structured and addresses the prompt requirements fully, providing a clear summary of the data provided in the charts.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0

The response is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'In contrast', 'In respect to', and 'Similar to' to guide the reader through the data. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different nutrients. The progression of ideas is clear, moving from a general overview to specific details for each nutrient. To improve, ensure that referencing is always precise; for example, 'Similar to sodium' is a good link, but ensure the transition between sentences remains smooth throughout the entire text.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate a sufficient range of vocabulary to convey the information clearly. Phrases like 'major portion', 'significant part', and 'most probable source' are used effectively. There are some minor inaccuracies, such as 'dinner diet' which is slightly unnatural in this context. You have successfully used topic-specific vocabulary related to the charts (sodium, saturated fat, added sugar). To achieve a higher score, try to incorporate more sophisticated collocations and avoid repetitive phrasing when describing the percentages of each nutrient.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are a few grammatical slips, such as 'The provided pie charts represents' (subject-verb agreement error) and 'dinner adds upto' (should be 'up to'). Additionally, 'breakfast consisted the least' is slightly awkward; 'breakfast accounted for the lowest percentage' would be more accurate. While these errors are present, they do not impede communication. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and ensure that complex sentences are constructed with precision to minimize these occasional errors.
