Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which negatively impacts the score. While you identify the main features, the analysis is somewhat superficial. You correctly highlight that dinner has the highest nutrient values, but the description of the data is occasionally confusing, such as the claim that 'sodium and saturated fat have lowest percentage of sugar'. This is logically unclear and misinterprets the chart. Furthermore, the comparison between meals is inconsistent, and some data points are presented without sufficient clarity or context. To improve, ensure you provide a more accurate summary of the data and meet the length requirement to fully develop your points.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate. For example, the transition 'Moving further it can be seen' is a bit clunky. The referencing is sometimes unclear, particularly when discussing the percentages of sodium and saturated fat. While there is an overall progression, the logical flow is hindered by the lack of clear connections between the different meal types and the specific nutrients. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You use some basic descriptive phrases like 'highest value' and 'lowest percentage'. There are also some awkward collocations and phrasing, such as 'data has been calibrated into percentages' and 'added the sugar for dinner records for 23%'. These errors occasionally make the meaning slightly opaque. To reach a higher band, focus on using more sophisticated vocabulary related to data description, such as 'proportion', 'constitute', or 'account for', and ensure your word choices are contextually accurate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the clarity of your writing. For instance, 'breakfast have least value' lacks the necessary article, and 'snacks eaten in united states' is missing a capital letter. There are also issues with subject-verb agreement and preposition usage, such as 'snacks with sugar are highest by 19% respectively'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are persistent throughout the text. Working on sentence construction and proofreading for basic articles and verb forms will help improve your accuracy.
